A True WNY GEM! no doubt. This sprawling acerage managed by the Erie County Parks Dept. is truely a wonder of nature with a tree covered forest so thick from above that it looks like a head of broccoli. It has several streams, a Lake at Commissoners cabin area many shelters for daily picinicing, fileds for play, disc golf, tennis courts(12) to be exact, scenic jogging, running, walking and biking pathways, a hill that is to die for and holds a dynamic panoramic view of the city of Buffalo NY. Just an awesome view. The winter park bring all sports like sledding, tobogganing, cross country trails, hiking, snow shoeing, ice skating and just breathtaking views. Truely one of WNY Gems! Please follow all rules, Keep our taxpayer funded park clean, bring it in please take it out, Dont leave pop and gatorade bottles all over the place it ruins what little beauty we have left. Such a GEM yet so many unkind and arrogant people who leave their trash. Please stop ruining our parks and take care of them. This park also is the dispatch and houses the Erie County Sheriffs Dept. A must see park. It certainly reminds me of Allegany state park but only 10 minutes from Buffalo. Please report any littering. Get a plate number...

The park is huge and has great trails and picnic areas. The shelters and other fixtures are pretty bad now though. When the park was closed for awhile they deteriorated and were vandalized. The County hasn't done enough to bring them back to life.
It is such a perfect place for so many different activities it's a shame it isn't better taken care of.
On any given night you can come and look out over the city for the most beautiful sunset.
The trails are wonderful as is the Eternal Flame as well.
They have a Frisbee golf course that is a lot of fun.
And in the Winter the sledding hill is super. Having the Casino there, nice and warm with hot food is perfect.
I can only hope the County fixes it up to preserve one of the nicest parks I've...

The scenery is beautiful all year round. A good time of year to spend most of your time? Well each season is great there. Spring is perfect if you are a mud explorer. Summer is a great time to creak walking. Fall is perfect to go if you want to watch the leaves change. Winter is perfect for sledding. There is also a part of the park that is set up for frisbee golf.there are fun playgrounds at shelters you can rent which is great for family gatherings. There is even the famous eternal flames waterfall. So much to do at this park. It will take multiple trips to explore it all. I highly recommend this park. It's worth...
