I’ve been going to the eternal flame for decades. Usually, it’s before or after a trail run in order to cool down. I’ve noticed that over the past few years, it’s gotten very busy. Trails are well marked if you know what you’re looking for. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and expect to run into a steep hill with many roots. I’ve seen people walk the trails sandals. They must be nuts! The park has done a good job of trying to keep everyone safe. Even the parking lot is a lot nicer than it used to be. This is a great place to take kids or for a short family hike. Again, you’ll be walking some rough terrain for about 50 yards. After that, no problems! The rest is a creek bed with a trickle of water. If you dont like crowds, go early to have some quiet time at the falls. Well marked trail down to the creekbed. Once you reach the creekbed, the trail is still marked, but the trail is gone, you will have to trek along the creek and in some spots, in the creek so wear appropriate footwear. There are a few staircases along the trail, so if you have trouble with stairs, be wary. The trail is an easier one, even with the creekwalk. If you do go in winter, the creek is a little bit trickier to walk due to the ice, but its still very approachable. The falls are small, but beautiful none the less and is definitely a must visit if...

In return from seeing it we started up a grill, waited for the coals to get just right, put food on the grill. We were all so hungry at this point. The park rangers came at 8:40 pm and told us to leave, they were looking the gate at 9:00. We took our uneaten food to the other side of the gate, already half closed where they also kicked us out. Wound up bringing all our food back home and ravenously eating it there. Will NOT be returning. Letchworth is by far more beautiful and...
