All around horrible experience this last weekend at Harvest. We wanted to play with a fivesome, so when we booked our tee time we called the proshop and asked if this was okay. They said it should be fine but they will check and call us back. They left us hanging for almost the entire week leading up to the tee time, until finally they called and let us know that we could play with 5, the night before we were scheduled to play. So now we get to the course and immediately run into issues about having a big group. The starter was rude and told us we weren't allowed to play and only let us go out after calling and talking to the manager who gave us the okay. We start playing and don't even get through the first hole before the course ranger is heckling us about pace of play. Mind you we are all very experienced golfers who have been playing many years and are playing a scramble round. in fact, we were waiting for the group in front of us on every tee shot and second shot. The ranger would continue to stop us 3 more times on the front 9 to complain about pace of play and was very aggressive and rude when doing so. Eventually we just asked for a refund for the back nine because it was unplayable at that point. We were going fast enough to pass the group in front of us but the ranger was relentless. As experienced golfers we understand the connotations that a fivesome has however our pace of play was fine, if not faster that the group in front of us, and we were given permission from multiple people in management to play. However the ranger was relentless in stopping us and it was a disaster. Seems like he has been an issue for others as well. Absolutely will not...
Read moreSo I made a tee time the night before for a single and they put me down for 7:10am the next morning. Got to the course around 6:50am, paid for my tee time and went to the starter shed. The starter, Mike, was very rude. Told me singles can't play until 9am with no further explanation. So I went back into the club house and talked to the guy that worked there. He told me they don't allow singles early because the maintenance crew needs time to finish their work. I'm fine with that but shouldn't the person that set up my tee time know that? I made it very clear that I was a single when I made the tee time. They told me the best they can do is paired me with a twosome around 8am, 50 minutes after my tee time. I'm from out of town and had things to do so I left. Needless to say, not a very well run operation and will NEVER go back there again. If you don't mind rude people that don't know what they are doing, feel free to go there. I'm sure there are better places to spend your money in the area though. I have to say that from a distance, the course did look very nice...
Read moreYesterday was my first time playing HH.. great course. Was playing in a benefit tournament for Homeless Vets. Great cause... now with that being said, the negative that I encountered. Rangers were up our butts all day. Not just our group, but riding around all day, hounding golfers. Its a scramble benefit tournament. What do you expect?? Then with 2 holes to play (time was 4:40), the ranger tells us that we are done and that our party is about to serve food and we need to exit the course because leagues are about to start. We asked, is it a shotgun league start? the guy looked clueless. Then we asked about dinner.. and he reiterated that dinner was already being served and we needed to exit the course. Mind you, dinner was set to be served at 5p. So then we asked, why we had to leave if we paid for an 18 hole tourney. Again he just looked lost and baffled and told us we were done. So even tho this is a great course and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I am definitely not going to go out of my way to drive out to OP to play there, with their clueless ranger...
