Otsego Lake is a narrow, wonderful beauty of nature that stretches about 10 miles north from Cooperstown. At the northern end is Glimmerglass State Park, offering the usual recreational activities available at a lake, as well as some historic sites to see. At the southern end of the lake is a small park, Council Rock Park, that sits at the very beginning of the Susquehanna River. I found it intriguing to see the start of this river as I’m very familiar with many other parts of the it, including the other end as it stretches its way almost 500 miles into Maryland.
