Family Farms Creamery — Attraction in Town of Ovid

Absolutely disgusting! Walked in and the man behind the counter had blue gloves on and was dealing with money, cash register, and was touching the counter. I specifically asked, who is making the sandwiches? He replies “she is” about the young girl in the back. He proceeds to take my order and then picks up the Turkey and begins to slice it using the slicer, but instead of removing and replacing his DIRTY blue gloves; he begins slicing the turkey and each individual slice is placed in his DIRTY gloved hand. At that point, I walked out because I was so frustrated by the unsanitary and pure disregard for food safety that if I would have said anything it would’ve been in front of a few customers. My husband stayed and brought my sandwich out to me which I immediately brought it back in and left on the counter. Do better Family Farms Creamery!!! Most people wouldn’t notice but being in the food industry for years, I do notice and take food safety very serious. Don’t go here if you want safe...

Everyone was very friendly. We found out about them when we had their cheese at one of the wineries and we knew we had to find it.

They let you try samples of the cheese for free before buying and it was all very good. Out of all of the creameries we went to in the Finger Lakes, the cheese was just as good if not better and the most reasonably priced.

They also have a small grocery store with many of the essentials, which is convenient because there isn't any in this area of the Finger Lakes and a deli. If I knew about it sooner, I would have come earlier in the trip for groceries...
