Beautiful hike on a warm November day! One can park on the corner of Dutchtown and Hullsville .. the trailhead is right there. A map of the trails is on a board there, take a photo of it l This was my first time there, and I got confused as to what trail to take to take to complete the four mile hike outlined in red in the photo. I took trail number 1.. and stayed on it. I should have looked more closely as the red lined hike is in a number of different numbered trails. In any case, the hike was beautiful.. I loved going off trail to the waters edge.. the beaver dam was fascinating .. I can’t wait to go back again and hike the longer route, and still walk down to the water.. lots of leaves on the tail so the trail is not as visible, but there are enough yellow trail markers on the trees so one doesn’t wander off. .. there were a few cars, but saw no one on the trails.....

Some really nice, scenic fishing spots... Lots of sunnies. You can take kayaks out and the like. Read moreA nice state forest for hikes, and primitive camping/backpacking. Unfortunately the experience is hurt by others leaving traces of old campsites, terrible "bushcrafted" half built shelters, and some trash here and there. Venture deeper into the forest on the trails and this disappears. Closest area for me to backpack and camp so I've been there a few times.
