Great time at the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze in Long Island in October 2024.
We arrived shortly before our 6pm ticketed time.
There were lots of staff directing people where to park which was very convenient.
After parking we entered the main area where they sold a few lit wands and staves for about $12 if desired. Tickets were scanned there and we proceeded to the main attraction entrance.
We were given the option to wait a bit before starting our walkthrough as it wasn't as dark yet (6:05pm). There is a small food vendor there selling some snacks as well as beer.
As you make your way through the attraction, there were lots of interesting and creative exhibits, all tied to Long Island's history. I appreciate that they took the time to make that connection as opposed to simply making random exhibits for display. Not only did we get to see some amazing designs...but learned a few facts along the way.
There were some smaller exhibits but also some larger ones like the spider-web and pumpkin tunnel, both great for photos.
Halfway through the walk, there was a shop which some souvenirs...typical things you'd expect from a souvenir shop.
Overall the walkthrough was bigger than I expected. we really enjoyed it...though not sure if we'd return, as they would likely re-use the same exhibits every year. (Apologies if I am wrong) This would be good to look into before returning in the following years.
All staff, from the parking directors, to shop vendors and others scattered around the walkthrough, were extremely nice and helpful. Big kudos to them!
I highly recommend this attraction, especially if you haven't gone before. There are a few discounted nights ... be sure to check their website.
Also, though the path is dirt...it is stroller friendly. We didn't have an issue navigating ours through...

Review:
Walking through the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze Show in Long Island this evening felt like being transported to another realm. Every corner of the path was illuminated by the ethereal glow of thousands of masterfully carved pumpkins, painting a tableau that seemed straight out of a Halloween fairytale.
From the shadowy wonders of the haunted village to the spellbinding allure of the pumpkin planetarium, each scene narrated a unique tale. The "bumkin" carving stood out, a testament to the artistry and innovation poured into the event.
The proximity to Halloween lent a magical ambiance, amplifying the drama of every display, from whimsical characters to iconic landmarks, all enhanced by synchronized lighting and the mysterious mists of fog machines.
Though the ticket price leaned towards the premium side, realizing it included free parking and recognizing the sheer dedication and craftsmanship behind the scenes made it feel like a worthwhile splurge. Mainly when reflecting on the monumental effort of crafting such a masterpiece for the select times it has dazzled Long Island since 2020.
Sharing this evening with my wife, I realized this was more than just an event. It was a journey into a universe where Halloween dreams take shape and come alive.
Families pondering a visit should know that this realm doesn't only welcome strollers but also captivates hearts, leaving visitors of all ages with memories filled with wonder.
Having read rave reviews on Google Maps, experiencing the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze in person surpassed every expectation. It's not just a "must-see for Halloween lovers" but a radiant beacon for all who cherish art, creativity, and enchantment. An absolute...
Read moreThis Pumpkin exhibit is located in Old Bethpage Village Restoration in Bethpage which is an amazing place filled with many of Long Islands historic old homes that have been relocated to this site, some dating back to the 1700s. I strongly recommend you go back to see the rest of Village Restoration during the day which I rate 5 stars.
The Pumpkin trail was well decorated with a spooky type theme, but still perfect for kids of all ages. The walk started off with a nice array of hand carved jack o lanterns. As we continued, there were many different sections each with a unique theme. However real pumpkins were definitely in the minority. In spite of that everything was well done with interesting and relevant local themes. All along the way there were colorful and dazzling lighting.
I made some inquiries and learned that even though most of the structures were not made from real pumpkins, they were all hand crafted on site by very skilled and talented artists.
The walk also included a few historical homes including some from the Hewlett and Schenck families as well as an old Barn, all in theme. There were informative, illuminated signs along the way.
A nice time for the whole family, in and out in under an hour. There was a snack/beverage spot that included hot chocolate and apple cinnamon doughnuts, although we didn’t stop there. There was also a small souvenir tent. Parking was free and plenty of port o potties for rest rooms. Pricing is $48 adult and $40 for ages 3-17. No...
