Casa Larga was the perfect location for our wedding. First of all, it is really great in terms of convenience because you get bar service and catering directly included at a very reasonable price so you don't have to worry about searching for those services separately. It's also a great location, not too far out from Rochester. I know I made the right decisions because we received so many compliments on the venue, including the beautiful indoor space, the gorgeous vineyard views, and how EXCELLENT the food was! Seriously though, I am ALWAYS disappointed with the food when I attend a wedding so my expectations were low... Our food was PHENOMENAL, in fact I was 100% convinced my father who flew in from France would not be one bit impressed and guess what... he was VERY happy with his beautiful filet. I had the sea bass and it was DELICIOUS. Guests were SO happy, someone even said they wanted to change their current caterer they have booked for their upcoming wedding because they wanted the Casa Larga food! The catering manager Mary Kay was so accommodating and really went above and beyond for us, I was so grateful. The space is absolutely gorgeous which was really helpful for me because I am not good with decorations so I was able to do minimal work here... (plus I was planning this from Texas as we do not live in Rochester anymore so decorations were complicated for me), the space is perfectly fine on its own. The staff, event manager and our amazing coordinator David were so incredibly accommodating and helpful... I've heard horror stories about day of coordinators who don't end up helping a lot, this was NOT the case for us, we felt supported and understood months before the event, and I had no stress at all about the venue. The day of, we felt like ROYALTY; even though we had a lot going on, the staff and coordinator ALWAYS made sure we had everything we needed. I think this venue gets a lot of business, yet they made us feel so special, we did not feel like we were just another wedding for them, we never felt pressured into anything they really let us take the reigns, they were incredibly dedicated, communication was ALWAYS great. Our social medias were FLOODED with pictures of guests who had taken pictures outside in front of the vines at sun set. Our guests had a wonderful time and that was so important to us. Cannot recommend this beautiful...
Read moreWords cannot express just how great our experience with Casa Larga was! My wife and I could not be happier with our choice to have them host our wedding reception this summer. To start, Belinda Countryman did an excellent job talking us through the entire booking process and helping us ensure all our needs were met and we would get the wedding we had always dreamed of. She was always available for any questions and was easy to reach when we needed to consult with her. Once we booked our date, David Suatoni became our day-of coordinator and did a phenomenal job with all of our final preparations. He was able to answer any questions timely and ensure that things like food allergies, decorations, and all accommodations would be suitable for each of our guests. His positive demeanor and attention to detail were instrumental in helping us enjoy the planning process. David went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. All of the staff on the wedding date were extremely welcoming and friendly and all of our guests raved about the service. The food was excellent and many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they ever had. Chef Scott did an incredible job with our menu and was so flexible when it came to accommodating dietary restrictions for our guests. Aside from the service, the views from anywhere on the grounds were stunning and make for great pictures at all hours of the day. The back deck was also a perfect cocktail hour location and a hit for our guests especially in the summer. There was tons of parking available and the venue was very good at working with all of our vendors to ensure they had the time and space they needed to set up prior to the event and work comfortably throughout the night. Many of our vendors even commented that they always get excited working with couples who are having their wedding at Casa Larga because it is one of their favorite Rochester wedding venues also. Casa Larga was the perfect venue for our wedding reception and we could not be happier with our choice and hope that everyone chooses them for their...
Read moreWhen we arrived to this place, the two people working there were distracted. We were given no clear guidance about how our tour and tasting was to be conducted. We waited 45 minutes outside before the next tour at 3. About 5 after, an attendant offered to take us on a private tour, which was rushed. We were told we did not get to see one section, but no explanation was given. Our tour basically just led us through the rooms, and didn't include any information on the process of wine making. Every time we asked a question, I had the feeling that our guide was annoyed at the delay. We did not ask that many questions. The tastings are conducted at a counter where your attendant stands and waits for you to toss down your wine so you can quickly go on to the next. My daughter and I did not feel at leisure to discuss what we were tasting, and no real knowledge was imparted about each of the wines was shared by the person pouring the wine. She just stood there watching us, seeming bored. The wines all had a bitter aftertaste, sweet as they were. This place has all the trappings of a really nice spot; the building, evocative of old Italy, is nonetheless devoid of character. It felt like Disney World. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the vineyard behind and to the side were nice. It is rather spoiled by its proximity to the road in front, and the vista to the back is ruined by a neighborhood of McMansions that the vineyard's owner, apparently also a developer, had built. My impression is that this is more of a store than a winery. Most of the 'tasting room' is given over to pricey retail displays. For all its slick presentation, there was very little to lead me to believe that there was any focus on craftsmanship here. It's all commerce. If you are a true wine aficionado,...
