I didn't plan this camping trip but was invited. So, people ' PLEASE AND PLEASE READ THE REVIEW BEFORE YOU GO ANYWHERE AND BEFORE YOU BOOK ANYTHING'. I thought all camping grounds are the same, but no this one is special. The camp is Not a family friendly campsite at all. We had a very big group with a lot of little kids. WE have been camping before without any problem with noise and had so much fun. But apparently, you're not allowed to be loud or have any kind of fun if you're doing so. I thought camping meant, campfires, smores, stories, kids having FUN without there being any repercussions. So, they need to bold up the words in the noise rule tab. You can't expect CHILDREN under 5 to have a curfew of 8p.m. on a weekend when they know they're out to have fun rather than be stuck in a house. I know for sure these old people (Karen's) have had babies in their life to know little babies cry loud right, if something is bothering them. Babies crying and kids being kids was apparently an issue. Kids having fun outdoors is what we were TRYING to accomplish but no Karen's have issues with everything we do. Can't be loud and can't play games, can't do sports, can't play music and can't even talk. They even complain about a well train/friendly dog which rather be free than be on a leash (but I know rule are rule). So, before the dog was not on a leash she was not barking and being loud. But because of the Karen's, they are the reason why the dog barks because she doesn't like the leash and now the old people go complain about it, even though they are the reason the dog is barking in the first place. We are just nice people to do all those things for them and not be too loud and yet they keep being Karen's. We tried to have as much fun as we can while the Karen's have the ranger come around every 15 min. Also, I recommend to not swimming here. If you have children and want to have a good time, do NOT camp here. Thank goodness we are not...
Read moreFirst experience camping with whole family and we had about 5 children under the age of 5. So yes toddlers thought it would be a good experience to take them camping. Terrible idea this park is not family friendly at all. Our kids had a long night and were excited because they had never been camping and were kids and being loud because we are outside and they were excited. However not very many people liked the idea of us having kids and that next morning we were informed that some people had complained that we were up past curfew at 11pm and kids were crying. So long story shot the officer told us if one more person complained about our kids being loud we would be evicted and get a 280 $ ticket for disorderly conduct. People we saying we woke up at 5am as well which was not true nobody woke up till around 1030pm and our neighbors were the ones up at 5am being loud but becuase we had children we got profiled and got all the blame. Basically if u are an older couple looking to be in silence and be in bed by 11pm because adults shouldn't being hanging out around a camp fire past 11pm in this parks eyes. Really didnt realize how much camping has changed over the years. This is why kids dont run around out side because they get in trouble and parents get threated with getting a disorderly contact ticket. We had really no option but to leave I cant control a my 1 year old if she is going to laugh and be loud. I would not consider this park for a family get away if you have children I would not bring them. Cop even told us if we didnt have children he would have just evicted us and given us a disorderly conduct ticket without warning, how is that even fare? Not like we were screaming or fighting just trying to have a good time with the...
Read moreBeautiful park! Camped for 3 nights in early June and it was a great trip. Bathroom and showers were very clean and well maintained. Even the vault toilet was clean, not stinky or filled with bugs. Toilet paper well stocked and filled with hand sanitizer. The reason behind the 3 stars.... The main is their pet policy. I get it not everyone likes dogs. But there are not a ton of trails that allow dogs. The ones that do, are incredibly short. If your looking at going for a long walk with your pup, best to walk around the camp ground. Booked this park because it was smaller and had a decent amount of trails and for the first trip of the season, it was closer to home. This isnt a review bashing the leash law- I LOVE that everyone was following the leash rule and we didnt have stray dogs wandering into our site. I just wish the trails were more accommodating. Upon arrival, I asked about ice and was told their ice machine was down. Something I think we should have been notified about as the closest gas station is two miles down the road into town.
All in all, the sites were gorgeous and far apart which is something I appreciate with two pups. I was able to sweep some of the big stones away so that the sandy tent was was visible and I had no rocks under my tent. My site, also had a decent amount on sun/shade so that when it was chilly sun was still accessible and when it was warm, shade was available. The fire pit was also cleaned prior to our arrival. We even had birds greet us one afternoon while we were eating. Including a very pretty cardinal. I just wish the trails were more accepting as we were not the only ones struggling to find a place to...
