Heritage Trails County Park — Attraction in Town of Polk

Had never been here before. Came like a month ago because my gf and I saw there was a disc golf course.

Apparently you have to pay to enter? There was no one at the gate and if there was signage we didn't notice it. Looking online looks like it might be a 5$ entry fee?

Anyway we played the disc golf course and it was not super well kept, tall grass and parsnip everywhere. The other fields looked like they were being allowed to run wild

Anyway, now a month later got a notice in the mail that I owe 50$ for not paying a fee I didn't even know existed.

Worst part is there was a cop in the parking lot, if they saw we didn't pay why didn't they say something?

We are huge supporters of park systems and would have gladly payed the fee if we knew it was required. But this 50$ ticket is ridiculous

Hopefully when I get in contact with the parks department they will be understanding, but my guess is they see this as an easy money grab after hurting from...

I give this a 0 stars. I drove an hour and a 1/2 to play some footgolf. Please don't even advertise this anymore. So overly disappointed. $5 $30 for passes?! The outhouse was completely overflowing. As far as footgolf goes barely anything is marked anywhere. Most of my game I was guessing where to T off from. Looking I finally found hole 6 in the middle of a grassy field & it had no flag, no green or mowed area. Really felt bad watching a single mother load her 3 kids & bicycles backup because they couldn't use the toilet. Don't waste your time. Bring TP to do your business in the woods if you must. Huge...

The biking trails are a TON of fun, we have been going 1 to 2 times per week since they opened for the season and are having a blast. Plenty of parking. There are now 3 porta potties available, which is an improvement from the one that was there the first week. Only minor inconveniences I've noticed would be that they could use more picnic tables near the parking lot, the playground is pretty sad and could use an upgrade (county park passes cost more than state park passes, is this something that may be in the works?) and the shack at the entrance is not in a...
