A Gem on Lake Ontario: Four Mile Creek State Park Delights with Spacious Sites and Sparkling Amenities Youngstown, NY - For those seeking a well-maintained and picturesque camping experience with easy access to one of the world's great natural wonders, Four Mile Creek State Park proves to be an exceptional choice. Situated on the shores of Lake Ontario and a mere stone's throw from the majestic Niagara Falls, this state park offers a tranquil retreat with top-notch facilities that cater to campers of all types. Our recent stay at Four Mile Creek State Park was nothing short of perfect. A highlight that often goes underappreciated in the world of camping was the state of the park's bathrooms. They were consistently clean and well-stocked, a testament to the diligent maintenance by the park staff. The inclusion of hot showers was a welcome luxury after a day of exploring the surrounding area. The campsites themselves are a key attraction. We were immediately impressed by the generous size of our site, which was both large and remarkably flat, making for an easy and stress-free setup for our tent. Each site is thoughtfully equipped with its own fire pit and a sturdy picnic table, providing the essential elements for a classic and enjoyable camping experience. The spaciousness between sites also affords a sense of privacy and peace, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park. Beyond the individual sites, Four Mile Creek State Park boasts a range of amenities that enhance any stay. The park features numerous campsites, with options for electrical hookups for those in RVs or trailers. For a more unique lodging experience, yurts are also available for rent. The park is family-friendly, with playgrounds for children and scenic nature trails that wind along the bluffs of Lake Ontario, offering stunning views. A camp store is conveniently located on-site for any forgotten necessities or treats. The park's prime location in Youngstown, New York, serves as an ideal basecamp for visiting Niagara Falls and the charming nearby town of Lewiston. Whether you're spending the day marveling at the falls or exploring the local history and wineries, returning to the tranquility and comfort of Four Mile Creek State Park is the perfect end to the day. In conclusion, Four Mile Creek State Park is a standout destination for its impeccable facilities, spacious and well-appointed campsites, and its unbeatable location. It is a highly recommended destination for anyone looking to experience the natural splendor of Western New York in...

Worst customer service experience I've ever had in any setting. I reserved one of the yurts. I didn't find out that they'd broken the air conditioner inside until I arrived, checked in, drove back to the yurts, and went inside to find it at 120 degrees with the AC blasting but blowing only hot air (while set on cool).

I went back to the check in desk to ask if they were aware of the situation and when it would be fixed. They'd known about it for hours and couldn't tell me if it would be fixed. I tild them this was unacceptable as an incredibly hot yurt on a 93 degree day with no AC was a health hazard for multiple members of our party. I was told by Laurel, and I quote, "That's your problem. We don't issue refunds. So deal with it."

At this point, I asked for the park manager's phone number. I called it on the way back to the yurt only to find I'd been given a fake number (a general NYS parks department phone tree number). I went back to get the real number. Laurel told me she couldn't give it to me. I asked for her name. She told me she wouldn't give it to me, started screaming at me, and ran back inside the check in building. I attempted to follow her in and, I kid you not, found her attempting to hold it shut with two hands on the knob to keep me out. I asked her to stop behaving like a child as attempting to play tug of war with a door was dangerous and someone could get hurt. She just kept shouting abouthow I couldn't come in as I (a paying customer with a complaint) wasn't welcome. I eventually just gave up trying to reason with the lunatic and walked away.

We left, having our entire vacation ruined, shortly after.

This was the most bizarre, unprofessional, and dangerous experience (as I was standing the in parking lot with cars coming in when Laurel decided she was going to act like a five year old with the door with my confused six year old standing beside me) I've ever had in any customer service setting. Needless to say, I will never, ever be going back. I won't being dealing with any state parks. The entire experience was a...

We camped at Four mile creek recently. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant visit. Our truck broke down. We have a slide in truck camper. The manager Trish was determined to get our truck camper off the site we reserved. Since our truck was in shop we had no way to move our camper since it did not have any wheels. We told Trish about our situation on Wednesday. She said no worries we have trucks to move your camper. We explained to her we needed a special truck to move it. She said no worries. We were like ok. Come Friday she came telling us we got to get your camper off that site due to a reservation. We were like ok. We will gladly move it if you get us the appropriate truck & we will move it. She kept bringing trucks that were too small or had a light on the roof. She waited till it started to storm to try to move it. She was determined to move the camper even if it meant tearing up a truck or our camper & did not care about the safety of others. She was not understanding at all. We tried calling different RV dealers & even u haul to try to get it moved. Still no one had anything that could do the job. We felt so bad that we had to stay in that site. The maintenance guy Dustin of the park & the volunteer Zeke both went above & beyond to help us. Dustin brought us groceries since we had no way to get food. Zeke went to different campsites asking campers if anyone had a truck to help us move. Zeke found someone to help us. Thanks to the workers of the park we were able to enjoy a final day at the campground. But the manager of the park Trish was no help at all & made an already stressful time even more unpleasant with the way she treated us & her employees. 4 mile is a beautiful park but the manager Trish made for a horrible stay...

Niagara Falls 3-Day Trip from Pittsburgh 🚗🌊

We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited the Niagara Falls area. We had site 83 (the picture is Lake Ontario from my bedroom window), and it was electric only. We have a 24 ft trailer, and the site was spacious with plenty of room for the trailer and the truck. There are plenty of potable water spigots throughout the park to fill a fresh tank, and the dump station was convenient on the way out. The bathhouses are clean and well maintained, and the laundry room was also clean and well maintained. The closest bathhouse to our site didn't have great water pressure in the showers, but it was adequate. The bathhouse in front of the playground had water pressure "exactly like home" according to the teenagers. I can confirm this was also my experience! There is no AC in the bathhouses, which is probably not necessary in NY most of the year, but we happened to be here during a heatwave (it was in the mid-90s) and it was HOT. Taking cold showers took care of that problem though, and it was really refreshing after a hot day! There is a really nice playground near our site. There is also a trail down to Lake Ontario, but there are signs posted everywhere "no swimming, no lifeguard on duty." You can fish from the bank, but it's very rocky so make sure you have no slip shoes. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. We loved being able to park for free at other state parks with our pass at Four Mile Creek. Overall, if we are ever in the area in the future, we would definitely stay here again!

This is a huge campground! 😱. It's too big to walk.🚶Definitely need a bicycle🚴 or a scooter. Speaking of walking. There's a lot of walking across and between campsites in this park 🙈. (in the first section with the lower numbers) I see people towing their trailers around this section at a pretty good clip 🤨. Traffic is not one way in this park. Being from Florida we always did make fun of New York drivers but apparently they don't drive any differently when they're towing...🫢 I don't see any golf carts in this campground. Perhaps they are not allowed. 🤔 The first loop (low #'s) is more open and the sites are closer together. The other loop is like a completely different neighborhood with more secluded sites. Many of the sites do not have electric and I see big campers in some of them with generators because they are such choice locations☑️ This campground is very noisy! And it's not really the kids like you would expect. It's more like noisy parents. Lots of slamming doors (cars, storage compartments, camper door) and people coming and going even as late as midnight! As I write this right now I was asleep earlier until the neighbors woke me up. They're just talking like it's 4:00 in the afternoon but it's 12:15 a.m. 🙉🥱So this is not the place to stay, at least not in the first loop. If you're looking for seclusion 🙈 and quiet🙉
