Gibbs Lake Park — Attraction in Town of Porter

I love Gibbs Lake Park. I take my dog swimming there. They have a great dock that they can jump off of and retrieve. Nice shoreline they’ve cleaned up I used to go here when I was a small child swimming and it’s improved a lot since then. The only thing I hate to see is there’s two big dumpsters for the convenience of people that are at the park but obviously some lowlife people come and dump TVs and things they don’t want to pay to get rid of into the dumpsters. Excellent park for multiple things to do year round. The lake has a good amount of pan fish and small mouth bass. Easy access in summer or winter for ice fishing. There are several hiking and horse back trails that go through the woods. The picnic area is all shaded in the woods making it more tolerable during a hot summer day. I trailer my horse out to trail ride and had a great time. Trails are very well kept and wide enough for my Clydesdale to pass other horses.
