Hemlocks and mosquitoes. Consider DEET and protective clothing. There's a small sign at Crab Lake Rd & Van Vliet; turn on Van Vliet and go to the end (past many residences), and it's easy to see the trailhead. Trails are well blazed and actively maintained. A fairly easy hike but there are some hills. One spot on the bog loop required stepping over a little mud. The Sugarbush Trail was closed (you're asked not to hike it to prevent invasive species) so the longest loop is only about 2 miles. Has trail loops of all different sizes, so good for anyone looking for a nice place to hike. I would suggest having a good up-to-date map and a copilot reading the map as it can be a little difficult to find your way and the parking area is pretty small.
