A real, true local, family run winery. No frills place that is down to earth and you can see where the wine comes from and how it is made. Very friendly owners and excellent wines. Tastings are inexpensive. Things to know: 1. No bathrooms as of this review 2. Tastings are outside under a cover with beautiful views. Dress warm if it is cold out. 3. Not a lot of parking, no buses (good thing). Wife and I had a great time and will be back.

This was an absolute gem of a kind! The owner poured and told us his story! I was awed by how beautiful and eclectic it was! By far my favorite stop of the day! So nice to be in a smaller run place that’s not so commercial! I loved it!

Well. This is my favorite. :) love the high quality wine. Also, the unique twist of flavors. If you can’t catch him in the store you can catch him locally at the public market. Don’t miss out. Your taste pallet Will thank you later ✨✨

We stumbled upon Deep Root Vineyard while visiting other Keuka Lake wineries and touring the beautiful area around the lake. The owner was amazingly down to earth and friendly, and although the winery does not have the fanciness of some of the more popular wineries, the wines were delicious and we had an awesome time talking to the owner and taking a private tour of his winemaking setup. He even gave us a taste of a wine that he hasn't released yet. We especially enjoyed his spiced Country Red, as we like to mull red wine with spices from time to time. This wine is awesome and saves us the extra step of mulling! We will...

We stopped here looking for good times and great wine and found this gem off the beaten path. Owner is quite the character, and we had a great time chatting about wine, crystals and mining. Their May sangria brew was absolutely marvelous and unlike any other we have ever had. There were just 4 varieties available to taste that day and we thought 3 of the 4 showed real promise. Overall nice smoothness to each we tried. We would definitely stop back here when we are next in the area. A very personal and non cookie...

This was our first trip to the Hammondsport area and we were looking for a winery that had some sweeter wines and be the casual kind of place we like. JACKPOT!!! We loved it the minute we saw it. Such a unique spot. The owner was so friendly and knowledgeable. We are definitely not wine connoisseurs, just like what we like, and he made the tasting fun. (Also there's a great cat!). We bought a slightly dry white, a really good spice wine that will be GREAT in winter, and a jar of fantastic sangria. Don't...
