The Ny Boulders provide a fun, clean , affordable local place to watch professional baseball. Its handicap accessible, provides great entertainment with their various theme nights , give aways and games, and has a lot of activities for kids including a free train ride, a playground, a sandbox, mini golf, kids running the bases, ice cream contests and they even set up a sprinkler during a heat wave! I am very patriotic, and what I love most about the Boulders is that they create events at the stadium to honor our Veterans, and first responders. I also love the fact that they allow patrons to bring their dogs to the games. When I go which is pretty frequent, I usually bring a group of friends or family and we have a blast. Most of my friends are either first responders or Veterans and we all agree the Boulders display patriotism like no other team. We especially love the display of fire works as it brings excitement to the night. Some people complain about fireworks, and say its too frequent , but the reality is that out of 49 home games only 8 had fireworks this year at the conclusion of the game, and one was cancelled due to rain. Thats 7 nights out of 365 days of the year! Honestly I don't think thats abusive. I believe people feel a sense of patriotism when they are able to experience a beautiful display of fire works in a safe place. Thats why we celebrate independence day with fireworks!โจ๐ฅ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธUSA! In fact, This year my mother in law ( who rarely goes out ) decided to join us when I told her there would be a live symphony playing music and FIREWORKS at the Star wars theme night. She was so happy !( picture attached) To summarize, I give 5 stars to an organization that provides affordable fun entertainment while being inclusive to many people and...
ย ย ย Read moreWe come to Boulders games around 3x a year. The stadium is just about 30 minutes from us in Bergen County. The stadium is clean and very nice and the views from the outfield are wonderful. Parking is usually ample, though they do run out of spots during the busiest games. The people working there are friendly and helpful. Overall it's a great place to see some minor league ball.
Some things I'd like to see improved: 1. staffing for concessions. You can wait 10-15 minutes for a hot dog during a game that only a few hundred people are at. 2. Quality of food -- it's not great. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are poor yet $10. The pizza is good but they're seemingly always out. 3. The team is frankly not as good as they used to be and the games are therefore just not as enjoyable. They used to be the best in the can am league and each year talked about joining a more competitive league. Now (in 2019) they're not competitive for can am league honors, and the level of play just isn't as high.
Overall it's a great team and a great stadium to take the family to, but hopefully they'll work on those things...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Boulders have a weekly fireworks show that abuses and traumatizes the animals in the Hi Tor Shelter next door. Some of those animals bang their heads against the metal cages in terror during the fireworks and have to be sedated. I set up a petition on change.org for the Boulders to switch to noiseless fireworks, a laser light show, drones or other non animal abusive entertainment. I emailed and phoned Shawn Reilly the President and Managing Partner of the Boulders numerous times. He never has the decency to answer my emails or return my phone calls. I now found out there was a similar petition 10 years ago, and numerous attempts to help those animals (and neighborhood Veterans who were in active combat and have PTSD) Reilly and the Boulders continued their animal torture for over 10 years. Go next door to Hi Tor, see how the animals are being affected, and unless you are heartless or really hate animals, how could you enjoy those fireworks? Baseball "The American Pastime" should not in any way be associated with...
