Good signage from the road. I parked in the small 9G lot, and there was only one other car there on a sunny cool October Sunday. However, there had been heavy rains the night before. As I started on the blue overlook trail, some other hikers said the path was impassable near the end due to the rains. I had hoped to make the blue and red loop. The trail started out wide, but quickly narrowed. Mostly well marked with flares and the trail is typically visible, even with fallen leaves. Lots of mud and tricky crossings on precarious branches and slippery rocks. Wildflowers and fungi galore with the blue mountains in the distance. I hiked as far as I could then turned back and picked up the red overlook trail. Lots of little bridges and babbling streams. This emerged into a meadow. I ended up almost making the loop I had intended to make, but with about twice the distance: about 2.3 miles overall. I would like to hike some other parts of this area when it’s drier and actually make it to the bay!

I wish I could give it a five star but sorry I cannot because we went there and we had to walk a while and then we found the stairs. It’s a wooden stairs and it was looking good from that point but when we went down and we were ready to some beauty but didn’t happened at all. We found some mud and it wasn’t that cool. I want to warn people because it’s not that nice place to visit.Actually you have to keep in mind when there is a lot of water around it will look good but without the water and it’s just a dry muddy place and nothing but a loss of your energy. Kind of scary.

Easy trail access to the river - there is also a small waterfall with a swimming hole at the bottom to cool off in the summer. Along the trail is an interest abandoned factory, and plenty of shade for hot days. Mountain bikes are also allowed on the trail, and a bike only trailhead splits off the main hiking trail about a...
