Thunder rocks is an easy hike. Parking area is 100 feet from them and it’s a quick walk around the area to see everything it has to offer lots of cool mushrooms and moss, trees, and maybe even some wildlife. The Allegheny sate forest is an awesome place to just explore even away from the rocks around in the woods and undeveloped areas. A plus hiking and a must stop place when in the area. Highly recommend to any...

As a WNY Native who has lived in Indianapolis since 2003, I love Allegany State Park! I took my spouse to the park for the first time and we come home yo WNY twice a year. I love the exuberant amount of trails, bike trails and extracurricular activities to partake in from kayaking, swimming, hanging out at the beach, the administration building with the animals you can see in WNY. A very unique rock city in the Alleghany State Park. Definitely worth checking out. It is very large and easy to see rock formations. Lots of trails around them to see. Not handicapped accessible unfortunately. There are no facilities but plenty of parking and the road is dirt but well maintained while there isn't snow. Other trails are...
