We drove from Milwaukee, WI to come to this haunted theme park. I will preface this long post with one thing- you enter RA at gate 4, but the road has no spotlights or signs directing you to that area. Need more of that. Ok on to the haunt. We came opening night for the 2024 season. It was not busy there at all but that does not mean anything necessarily. We parked and got out to start our experience. It was my spouse and myself. We usually have a big group do haunts but no one else could make it this time. We came to the haunt with unused tickets from 2023 season that were general admission. The storms and rain last year made it impossible to attend then and the night that we had planned to, it was closed down. They made it right then by sending an email to ticket holders indicating we can use them beyond 2023 season so that is what we did. They did not scan for the ticket clerks, but they called the manager over, he definitely vouched for us and said yes. The event is 3 haunts total. We started with Cellblock 13, it was too short but some decent makeup jobs on those prisoners we saw. Next haunt, definitely the scariest of the three. That was called Slaughter House. Good length of time in that one to walk through, more detailed scenes, more actors, and more scares like chain saw, strobes etc. Put more strobes and smoke in the Cellblock 13! That is a good affect in the Slaughterhouse. Was a decent house, the final one is the Big Top. It was a circus themed maze and boy that one sure had us turned around and around! Excellent job on the maze in there. Some scary clowns too! They need more weapons in their hands though. Every clown chased us through the maze which we loved, but they weren't holding anything to make it scarier. Also, that scary trapeze artist guy in the Big Top almost kicked us, twice, on his bar as we were in there. I barely missed him I will be honest that was scary in a not safe way. We did like that house though a lot. The manager also told us that we could have one free add on to our haunt to thank us for coming back. We both chose the Rage Experience which is a SUV you smash with a sledgehammer! We were told it was three swings each and that you wear a face shield. I took one swing on the SUV, and there were glass shards from the window I just busted, on the handle of the sledgehammer thus cutting myself a tiny bit. I said to the stand clerk, you should really make everyone wear safety gloves to do this. I finally got him to give me the pair he was wearing to finish my two swings remaining. I smashed off the mirror and a corner of the fender wearing the gloves, and no further incident arose. Please consider the safety of your customers by providing gloves and the face shield. Overall, it was a decent haunt. We are Halloween fanatics who go all over the Midwest each season to be scared! Thank you for allowing us to return. A couple tweaks and if you do the suggestions I have here, you got yourself a really...
Read moreThis was a disappointment beyond words last year. Hardly any monsters between all the haunts. $40+ spend plus the drive. Which you have to spend a min of and do multiple houses as they don't give you the option to just purchase and do one. The actual set-up, work that went into the decorations & aestetics was decent, but with so few monsters/ghouls throughout it was quite the bummer. Embarrassingly short staffed. There were no "bands" as advertised either, more like subpar karaoke with poor sound. Cash-grab kinda biz- 100% would not recommend. Also- They delete ANY and ALL negative feedback left on their social media page and posts that were well earned from those of us who paid money for a crap experience. There are many other haunted houses worth your time and money!
EDIT: after reading the response from the owner I will say this : this is not about tearing down a small biz. I read the reviews from others last year that had the same experience I did, and have read some from this season already stating similar if not the same feedback. You delete all feedback that isn't positive from your social media instead of addressing it. THAT is why I am leaving a review here. No we will not be back to waste more of our time and give you more money. Thank you for pointing out how things cost money, that was necessary in your response. Everything does. Literally. You're not staffing your haunts appropriately and then are ignoring or deleting the response from customers who were disappointed bc of that. I just noticed you even took the time to block my social media account from your public page- after leaving a much shorter and smaller review than this which was deleted almost immediately. Talk to a manager? Why ever would I when this is how you do your biz? Gaslighting is not the way to success. I have never left any kind of review like this for any biz but you honestly earned it and I truly hope it saves other haunt fans some time and money before they...
Read moreI don't like leaving negative reviews, but feel the need in this case. I've been to a number of these types of attractions ranging from quite bad to phenomenal. This one was extremely hyped and looked like so much promise, but came up way short. Many of the actors did a decent job, some good effects and setup, the venue had tons of potential, etc. So they had the opportunity. The price was in line with a well established/professional event but the feeling was a much more volunteer/start-up level. There wasn't bandwidth for moving people through at a reasonable pace without crowding within the events, there were technical problems causing delays in line (the lead guy got us in quick to deal with our issue, but the line worker should have been trained to work through it as efficiently), the content was just not enough. The ambiance was more like a county fair (country music) and not haunted/scary in line with the theme of things. The fast pass was a let down since we were paced the same as general admission to get in and had pretty long waits compared to how many were there. The Anarchy portion was a paintball type event didn't work at all for me (I wasn't even given a gun so just walked through with my friend shooting). My suggestion is cut the advertising budget by a ton and focus on content that will make people brag about the place and bring in more. Over-hyping and under-delivering just leaves a bad taste in a person's mouth. We traveled 6.5 hrs to check this out (among other things) and were let down. I'd say if this was in the $25 range and local I'd have felt better, but still wouldn't have felt it matched the hype. Hopefully the feedback helps make next year a better experience for...
