Caribou Bay Retreat — Attraction in Town of Richford

LOOK NO FURTHER ....THIS IS SHANGRI LA!!!! A ONE STOP SHOP FRIENDS!!! We have been coming to the Caribou for 10 years! Mona and Jack are INCREDIBLE people - a dynamic du and they treat you like family! Their property is BREATHTAKING...and wandering the grounds is like being in a storybook romance! There are 3 sections: 🌿The first portion is the outdoor ceremony /sanctuary overlooking the lake nestled amongst pine trees and wildlife. The windy pathway flows through the mystical forest, past a charming log cabin and over a vintage bridge - simply DIVINE, someone catch me I'm starting to swoon!! ! 🌿 The 2nd area is the beach and main house ( where the girls usually get ready) adjacent to the bungalow style barn where the guys get ready! (this area also features beautiful weeping tress like down south, a wood shed and dock at the beach - all picturesque! OOO LA LA !!!! ) Follow the bread crumbs down a whimsical pathway that leading you gracefully to the dining hall. The reception building is also surrounded by nature, the forest, a campfire pi and seating area, dusted with Italian lights - just enough to light the path but not to obstruct the ambiance! There is PLENTY of parking by the main reception area. The hall includes stylish country chic decor, bar, bath rooms, and screened wall - for open air concept. Everything is in WALKING DISTANCE! We got married at Caribou Bay Retreat on June 14, 2025, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless, stunning, and stress-free. Mona and Jack were absolutely amazing—friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Whether it was planning details in advance or making sure the day-of ran smoothly, they went above and beyond to make us feel supported. Jack officiated our wedding as well and it was an amazing experience. He has such a warm personality and made practicing easy and had many helpful tips. The scenery was breathtaking. With its peaceful lake, lush greenery, and charming ceremony and reception spaces, the venue felt like a hidden gem. It made for the most beautiful backdrop to our celebration (and our photos!). The cost was more than fair for everything that’s included. From exclusive use of the grounds to on-site lodging, we felt like we had our own private retreat for the weekend. Having accommodations right on the property was a huge plus for us and our wedding party. It helped relieve the stress of set up and tear down. My husband and I got married here 8/9 and chose to stay at the lodge with our wedding party from Thursday - Sunday. We had a great experience! Though I do get what some of the reviews have said about Mona being no nonsense, she is very kind and just asks that rules are followed and people are respectful of her property which I think we can all agree is rational and justified. Mona gave us so much leeway to have the unique wedding of our dreams, all we had to do was ask! Mona let us keep my donkey Bob on site for three days so he could be apart of our ceremony!! Mona even drove my husband and I around to find the perfect spot to do our private vows. The lodge is beautifully decorated and was such a good time. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. The event center is gorgeous and we received so many compliments. We also decided to hire Elissa to do some of our food(grazing table) and to do day of coordination. Elissa was amazing! Her grazing table was beyond beautiful and anything I needed the day of the wedding she was right there to help. She even brought us coffees at 8am while we were getting ready. I could not have picked a better venue or a better family(Mona,Jack and Elissa) to help make my husband and i’s wedding the best day...
