Honeoye Lake — Attraction in Town of Richmond

Honeoye Lake’s park and beach on its north end is for its residents who smiled, waved at and greeted us during our brief stop to see it. We parked, walked to its shore, took pictures, used their bathroom and chatted a while at a picnic bench. No one was unfriendly or unwelcoming. It's hard to not give it five stars because I enjoy spending time there. But the fishing is getting worse and worse as is the blue - green algae. Only two 16" bass after a week of fishing and I'm not sure I can eat them with the algae blooming like it is. Heck, the beach was shut down...

This is the perfect lake. It's large enough for boating, fishing, skiing, etc. but not so big that it attracts tons of people. This also helps keeps the rental prices reasonable. Just beware of the algae bloom as the summer progresses. It can make the...
