I am only giving Turtle Lake a one-star review so that it brings the overall rating down so that if people look to find a lake to go to they see that it's poorly rated and they don't want to go here because this is actually my favorite Lake in the whole state. Turtle lake is awesome. Unfortunately, an Illinois company saw the adverse comments by another reviewer against Illinois people and elected to not relocate to the Turtle Lake area-as previously planned. They are staying in Illinois. The relocation would have brought 10-15 additional jobs to the area with salaries up to 90k per year. Many positions required little experience. I grew up going to Delavan Lake. Visiting Turtle Lake as an adult I was impressed by how little algae there was. After asking the locals and researching the SE WI local fisherman’s guide, it turns out that this is true because this lake is very deep, despite its smaller diameter.
