Buckle up for a ride. We have been staying at this KOA in the same cabin (by the creek in the back - KT3) with multiple families for the past 6 years. After our first night in the cabin, at about 5pm the next day, I noticed about 10 bites on my left elbow. Didn’t think much of it, we’re camping after all. Went to bed the 2nd night pretty covered up because it was cold and woke up to 20+ bites all over my arms. Immediately searched the mattress and discovered it was pristine so I thought phew! No worries there. But then I checked the box spring and much to my dismay it was infested with bed bugs. I went to the office at 9am when they opened and was greeted by a very unpleasant young lady who was under the impression that I was required to be cheery and pleasant to her considering the circumstances I have found myself in due to their negligence. The owner’s son arrived and confirmed it was bed bugs and we were offered a refund for the cabin and the golf cart and were shockingly offered to move all our now potentially contaminated items to a new cabin. It was at that moment that I knew these people had no idea how to deal with and treat a bed bug infestation and we immediately checked out and went home with all our belongings in plastic bags. Over the next 24 hours at home I developed 60+ bites all over my arms, hands, face and neck which are now blistering and oozing. I called the office and requested to speak to a manager and was put on with a very nice young lady whose hands were tied behind her back. The owners tasked her with offering me 50% off a week in a cabin (not by the creek though) and a free golf cart rental as if I would ever be returning there in this lifetime. Foolish of me to think that an establishment solely responsible for what is now turning out to be an approximately $3000 loss (items thrown away, exterminator costs, laundry costs, mattress and pillow protectors, etc) would take any responsibility or ownership of their negligence. This has destroyed my peace of mind, I can’t sleep because I feel like bugs are crawling on me, my children missed out on their week of camping and I am absolutely beside myself because this has the potential to become very bad, very quick. KOA on the other hand… apparently not their problem. What is perhaps the most disturbing is that there are likely multiple families who have stayed in that cabin all summer and are unfortunate to not have had such a severe reaction to the bites and will likely realize what happened several weeks or months from now at which time KOA can absolve themselves of all responsibility. How convenient. Do not stay here. They don’t know how to handle bed bugs. They’ve likely spread to other cabins. I highly doubt they will effectively treat the infestation in KT3. It is my assumption they knew there was an issue in there, changed the mattress and thought they solved the problem and left the infested box spring which is why the mattress was so clean. Please, please, please, do not stay here

Our family spends a week at this camp every summer and this year will be our last. Upon arrival, to our cabin, we discover the WiFi and cable do not work. Part of the reason this campground was chosen is for the amenities. My daughter takes online summer classes and had no access to complete her work so we had to pay more to our cellular company to boost our hotspot. The Wi-Fi has not worked any stay here for the last 3 years. Should not be advertised as an amenity. When the cable situation was brought to their attention, we were told it hasn’t been working for a few weeks since a lightening strike. I feel like we should have been told upon check-in. We rented a golf cart and we’re not given proper pick up time (basically told to get whenever) and then charged early pick up fee because the employee was not trained properly. Then my family was harassed by who they claim is their “head of security” for driving the golf cart without license in hand. Never told we had to carry our license when driving the cart. He was also not wearing anything to identify him as a KOA worker. When I went to speak with someone in the office no one knew when the person in charge would be back. The “manager” did call upon her return and was able to verify that this aggressive man was in fact an employee and it was his day off. I have watched many people flying around her drinking with children hanging off the back of golf carts and kids on motorbikes not wearing helmets and this “security officer” isn’t chasing them down? The kids went to use the jump pad and the closed sign was still up. Went to check at the camp store if it was open and was told she was the only worker this morning and could we take down the chain and turn the sign. Not a huge deal, but I don’t work here and am on vacation. The porch light has not worked. There is loose lattice on the bottom of the exterior of the cabin with a large exposed screw. The cabin had many ants we had to clean out before we could put our food away. The salt water pool hasn’t been open causing all campers to use one pool. The quarter machine gave us a few Canadian quarters that cannot be used in the games. The air conditioning unit leaked all over the game room floor and made it quite slippery. Was reported and not cleaned up. I am getting the strong impression that seasonal campers do not need to follow the rules and are given preferential treatment. Our family may only come one week a year, it costs almost $1300 for the cabin alone and the amenities are not available. Very disappointed in this KOA.

I loved my time here! The beautiful camp grounds offered plenty of activities through the day and evening. And the nights were very quiet. Only the sounds of wildlife as we sat by the campfire. I rented a deluxe cabin. The set up was similar to a hotel room. 2 beds, small countertop with a couple stools, a counter with a microwave and coffee maker on top and a small fridge below. It was bigger than I expected and it had a beautiful location along a creek. The porch on the front with a picnic table was an added bonus in my eyes. There also appeared to be a grill at each site. Fair warning...There was a notice in the bathroom area explaining the hot water is limited. I discovered this to be truer than I expected. Lol I recommend a quick warm shower vs a hot shower. 10/10 I would go back!

Hang in there this is going to be a long one!....I would give this place no stars if it were an option. We will NEVER return to this campground based on customer service alone. The owners AND office manager Santana, were beyond rude, unprofessional, greedy, and showed no empathy, understanding, or common decency to our predicament, when it was the fault of one of their staff members. We were assured our cabin rental for the 3 night stay would have a bathroom AND HEAT/AC, when making the reservation months in advance. After a friend rented a one room cabin at a different location with no heat, and mentioned the temp was in the 40's inside the cabin at night, I called a second time to double check our cabin had a bathroom AND HEAT/AC, again we were told YES for both. We arrive at our cabin only to find it had NO HEAT!!!! Having 2 small children and not packing heavier bed linens to be prepared to spend the night with no HEAT, i was concerned. I spoke to Santana hoping to find a solution to better accomodate my family of four. She was rude, and had no empathy to our situation. The only option offered was to switch to an 8 person cabin with heat, that was DOUBLE the cost and DOUBLE the size that we needed. They only offered a 10% discount on the increased cost of the larger cabin if we swapped cabins the 2nd day of our stay when it became vacant. They were unwilling to allow us to swap cabins at no cost to us, eventhough it would be huge inconvenience for us to pack up and move on the 2nd day of our stay, and eventhough we were assured our cabin had heat....when the larger cabin remained vacant the entire Labor Day weekend anyway!!!!! Santana stated the larger cabin could be rented at any time that weekend and they would lose a ton of money if we didnt pay the cost difference of the larger cabin(greedy and focused on money and not basic customer satifaction). So instead of accomodating a paying guest with young kids, with an upgrade that included heat, at no charge, when the paying guest was told misinformation by their employee, they left us out in the cold...literally...with the hopes that someone else would rent the larger cabin at full price....and the cabin never ended up being rented and they lost money anyway!!!!!! Having 2 small kids and being ill-equipped for the cold temps at night we were furious that they had no common decency to ensure the satisfaction of one of their guests and comfort of their kids. On top of things, at check-in I didnt realize I was not given the key to our cabin until we drove back to the cabin, to the further side of the campground, beyond the creek. I had to drive back up to the office to get the key, yet another inconvenience. When informing Santana of this on the same phone call, she blamed it on being a busy weekend and accused me of "ridiculing" her staff. Then we took the kids to the arcade and multiple games didnt work, didnt dispense tickets, or took our quarters. Then it took close to 10 minutes for a staff member to come over so the kids could redeem their tickets for a prize. Also, the handle for the shower in our cabin was installed backwards and you had to turn to cold to get hot water, and hot to get cold water. If it is such a busy weekend then be better prepared with more staff to prevent the suffering of your customer services. We confronted Sanata in person and were again met with extreme rudeness, she kept cutting us off, so we asked to speak to the owners, who never came to speak to us after 15 mins of waiting. We asked for a call from the owners later that day if they were busy at that moment, and the owners didnt have the courtesy to call either. Personally knowing 2 of their seasonal campers, and hearing that the rude attitude, and lack of care or concern by the owners is "the norm", should make you consider finding a different campground with similar ammenities and a better quality staff.....starting with owners. Shame on the owners, and shame on their manager for how they handled things. You can rest assured we wont recommend this...

Terrible expirience.. after looking into booking here and reading some others reviews I took the chance anyway after reading some terrible reviews on this place based on my friends who were going and said its great.. Unfortunately not even 30 mins into being there I was followed back to my site by a guy on a golf cart telling me that 3 wheeled golf carts werent allowed to be used there.. He showed me some wrinkled up piece of paper that we were supposed to have signed at check in which it was never presented to us (sorry your staff is not doing their job) and said nowhere on their website about the restriction so I was irritated about that and just walked away and continued to set up my site.. The guy left and then about 10 mins later came back with the owner who walked directly past me and got right in my wifes face yelling at her that it needed to be removed from the property.. At this point I was a little more than irritated considering my wife was not even on the cart it was just me and he was screaming in her face with my 3 and 1.5 year kids in the stroller with her.. So I stood up and told him not to talk to her like that and if he had a problem with anyone it should be me because I was the one riding it.. He then told me to pack up my s* and get out and I said I will put the cart back on the trailer for the weekend he said "no get your stuff and leave I own a multi-million dollar camp ground and I dont need your money" there was no reasoning with this guy I told him I did nothing wrong and I would put the cart back on the trailer for the weekend and by then he was already on the phone with the troopers.. So I waited and sure enough a trooper and sheriff showed up and listened to his line of false statement to pump the story up in his favor a little asked me my side and I explained.. And at the end of all of it I stayed and put the cart back on the trailer for the weekend (the only reason I even did stay is because we were with 5 other families and I was cooking everyone a $200 prime rib for dinner saturday so I didnt really want to let everyone down) by the end of the weekend everyone in our group had been yelled at by the guy 1 for parking in the wrong spot to run into the store and grab ice.. Another because he was walking his dog and it jumped in the lake which he quickly got the dog out of the water because apparently dogs arent allowed to swim.. But dont worry the campground super trooper was already in route to scream at him about that to and did so.. And another because he had a training collar on his dog and apparently those arent allowed in his compound either.. So i guess if you like walking on egg shells and not having any fun with friends and family this is the place for u.. I dont know if he was beat up in high school and picked on alot and finally feels like hes getting his revenge on all his bullies but he is on some serious power trip.. Not to mention there was a sewage geyser flowing across the main rd all weekend and the whole place smelled like a giant terd.. Garbage cans that never had bags put back in them and were full of food and garbage covered in maggots.. Broke down picnic tables in the gazebo sewer pipes pushing out of the ground through the center of my friends sites.. As stated in other reviews half of the staff look miserable and I didnt even attempt to talk to them because of it.. Also stated in other reviews quiet time is def not a thing people were up all night drunk out of their minds with music blaring and kids running around screaming til at least 1am to the point where my kids kept being woke up.. I believe at one point this place was thriving but I also believe the owners are burned out and cant handle it anymore and I just wanting to sit back and collect the money..We will never be going back along with the 5 families that were with us after all he doesnt need our money anyway so I guess there is really no point.. As a fellow business owner I would never tell a...

I would love to say we were happy at this campground but it would not be true. We showed up an hour early to check in due to the impending rain we wanted to get in and set up before it down poured. First let me say the staff who checked me in were not friendly At All , no Hi welcome to KOA nothing it was girl at desk with another woman and this was the tone " Name? ( gave her my name) what's your name again ( told her again) , have you been here before ? ( no we have not ) well your an hour early there will be a $3.00 charge due to you being so early. SERIOUSLY I just paid $343.00 to stay at this campground and now your charging me extra just because I'm an hour early. Then to add insult to injury they charge you a $10.00 deposit on their key fobs that they hand out for the gate entrance ( I was aware of that as I read it but not aware I would be charged due to being early) And I might add the key fob is POINTLESS as any time we entered back into the park someone was in the gate house and opened the gate for us. When I asked how I would get our $10.00 back when we returned the fob when we checked out ( as we normally get on the road by 7am ) I was told there will be envelopes outside the door leave your fob in the one with your name on it and we will mail you your money back. Now I have to say we are avid campers and have frequented quite a few KOA campgrounds and we have never ever been charged extra for being early and we always have been given a gate code at ck in to go in and out of the park. Our site which I thought was a little set back from the pavilion that was adjacent to the site we had (P30) was not it was literally right on top of the pavilion my back was to the picnic tables and steps away from it the whole time. The group that came in behind us over took the entire pavilion the whole entire time we were there , if we had wanted to use it due to the rain that wasn't happening as they had kids toys and their garbage laying all over the inside and out. The thing that really ticked me off was the fact that we were charged to enter into this campground early but when we got to our site I spent the better part of 25 minutes picking up garbage off of our site , plastic silverware, candy wrappers , beer bottle tops , and cigarette butts. I have never been so disappointed in a KOA before especially considering we had just spent 4 days at Lake Erie State Park and it was priced a lot lower and the park was immaculate. The only staff member I encountered that was even remotely pleasant was the young woman who I checked out with this morning on 9/8/24 , we were due to stay until 9/9/24 but were by now tired of looking at the garbage lying in the pavilion behind us and dealing with rude people. The gentleman that picked up our garbage I made it a point to thank him and he looked at me and never said a word got back in his golf cart and literally peeled the thing out. I understand its the end of the season and some of these people have worked all summer for the campgrounds but if your not going to be pleasant then maybe this place needs to rethink their staff choices next year. It is a very large park and the bathrooms are clean I will give it that , but we will not return to this campground it put a very bad taste in our mouths. Oh and by the way this was my Birthday weekend and its pretty sad that we could not wait to leave...
