Beautiful place to explore. The hydrodam is pretty cool. The western branch of the river is amazing. If you park at the southern portion of the damn, you can hike up to the top of the hydrodam and then cross over to the western portion. When parking, it does not seem like you are parking in the correct spots but the area is friendly with "fishermen" park here signs. There are also canoe portage signs. The Falls themselves have been reduced to mild rapids, so go for the views of the water or the Ice Age Trail hike. The hike to Grandfather Falls is unusually pretty and just a few feet from the water. The narrow trail is mainly mud and gravel with some large rocks and roots sticking up, so it's a relatively easy walk if you're fit and alert, but you would want to keep young kids close to keep tripping to a minimum. For older hikers, moderately good balance and grippy shoes will make it a better experience. You can also just drive to the Falls area, but that's mainly fun for engineers...

Heading towards the river from the road, you can go straight or right (across a bridge). Going straight is a trail that leads you down to river, I saw a boy and his pops fishing, the trail was overgrown, but may or may not have followed the river further. If you take the route towards the bridge, the trail was much easier to travel and it has good views of the waterfall. Very pretty. Directions ended on the route, we had to drive a bit further to find the parking lot on the left. There’s a portable toilet stall there which is convenient. I can’t wait to upload the images...
