We spent an afternoon at Buttonwood Grove in celebration of our daughter and her fiancé. I had booked a wine tasting and charcuterie for 22 people and have nothing but the highest praise for everyone we encountered at Buttonwood Grove. Prior to our arrival, I worked with Jenna who was so accommodating and pleasant. She went above and beyond to help my vision for the day to become a reality. The winery had built a new outdoor pavilion and had it set with beautiful farm tables, chairs, vases of fresh flowers, and a sparkling wine for a toast. Our hosts for the day were Stephanie and Bonnie - two of the most gracious, welcoming people I have ever met whose purpose for the afternoon was clearly to do whatever my family needed to enhance our experience. A rain storm was forecasted during our time and staff were prepared with umbrellas to walk members of our party to wherever we needed to go. Luckily the rain was short-lived, but the staff had everything covered to ensure our comfort. At Buttonwood Grove my family was made to feel special. Read moreMy Wife and I were stopping as part of The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail Sweet Treat for your Sweetheart Event. We were on our second stop of ten and looking forward to sampling more wines of the area. The way we were received when we arrived was nothing less than shocking. We walked in the front door and waited next to the entry counter only to be yelled at by a lady from across the room telling us to go outside and walk around the building and downstairs past numerous caldrons to get to where the wine tastings were happening. Mind you the room we were waiting in when she yelled was full of customers being served and we were treated like we were asking for a free meal instead of like the paying customers we are. We finally got to where the tasting was supposed to happen and found it to be a room that was not large enough to get into let alone stand comfortably and taste wines. With a line stretching out the door and we left immediately. We patronised many establishments today and were treated exceptionally well and will return to those places in the future. To say it was appalling is an...
Read moreStaying for a few nights in the cabins on the grounds of this winery is really the way to go. We got the best of camp life including a nightly fire, peacefulness, outdoor grilling, and a private wooded yard. And we got all the amenities of staying at a nice hotel suite that included a nice bathroom, very comfortable bedroom, and decent size sitting room. (there isn’t a full kitchen however it does come with a refrigerator freezer and coffee pot and microwave). |Nestled between the vineyards on a hill overlooking the winery and Seneca lake could not be a better place for a beautiful scene.|In addition it is a short walk down the hill to enjoy the winery itself and the live music on there grounds on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.|The staff was very accommodating from the very informative tasting room manager, Jenna, Who was kind enough to give us a tour of the facilities including a vast history of the winery. Right down to the housekeeper Debbie.Everyone in the tasting room was very courteous and pleasant|This is our second time there and we are already discussing...
