If I could I would give this place a whopping 0. I had traveled 45 minutes to Avon to go to the flea market. Great people there, so nice, welcoming, helpfu,l greatful. There were beautiful mums nah I thought support the local farmer...was I ever wrong. First if all I pulled in looked around. No one approached me, I heard some one in the barn and a woman calling for someone in the distance. A truck pulled in with the son of the farmer. Never said a word got out of his truck never said one word to me. So I put the mums on the back of my car and started picking out pumpkins. The son went to the back field wirh a friend to shoot stuff. He yelled were closed. Then the woman came out the door and yelled someone will be with you in just a moment. The son came over and I asked if he knew the price of these funky pumpkins. He said I'm not sure. We dont have money my dad is on the way. The farmer pulls in with a truck load of hay, gets out of his truck and starts yelling at me, his son also gangs up on me saying were closed didnt you see the closed sign. Well I seen no closed sign, I don't even see the hours. Im was totally disgusted with the way they treated me. Where im from people leave there wares out and a lock box to put your money in. Needless to say support the local farmer unless they don't want you business because they are mean....
Read moreI have watched this family farm and business grow through the last 20 years. From a roadside stand to what it is today. With a steel building and an epoxy floor with products from other vendors and more of everything in general. Their heart remains the same and they haven't become so commercial, so in that they feel disconnected. This family is still very much a part of the community, and the business has a very local feel, which is nice. The produce is fresh and in season. And their homegrown pork is to die for!!! Make sure you get it before it's gone. From the early spring annuals and flower baskets that they provide right through to the end of fall with their corn, watermelon, pumpkins and mum's; they are truly a daily delight to visit and purchase from. Fortunately, they are on my way home from work and I reliably stop there for my produce, as opposed to grocery stores in the area. It is nice to see such success for them. And I just hope that they don't outgrow the friendly feeling, but I can appreciate that's a hard balance to achieve. Love Werners farms! Update: Lately I feel their prices have crept up quite a bit. Many places have but, $2.00 for one head of garlic is crazy. I have also found over the last couple of seasons that their annual flower pots dont last as long as elsewhere (but they are still a...
Read moreFor years I have wanted to get stacking pumpkins to decorate my porch for fall. I could never find the right ones that I was looking for until yesterday. Not only did Werner farms have a huge variety of shapes and colors, but they had the best price point locally. Three stacking pumpkins for $20 is a great deal, as the average price I’ve seen around has been 2 for $25. They also have huge beautiful mums in all colors, fresh produce, including Concord grapes, gourds, and unique fresh flowers for bouquets. I highly recommend...
