Thunderstorms interrupted our waterfall chasing, so, we switched gears and drove to somewhere we'd never been. What a lucky day!!
A horseshoe-shaped parking lot with a walk-through gate into a fabulous garden filled with native plants & each has informational signs. Bat houses dot the trees.
From there, you follow a short path past the restroom (with an incinerator toilet!) & head to the boardwalk thst runs through a beautifully laid out wetland.
Big Bonus: It is Fully Accessible in all areas with ample seating throughout the level & smooth boardwalks. The design is phenomenal & everything was so well-executed. No bikes or horses allowed.
Great Blue Heron Rookery could be spotted- what a delight! We listened to birds & frogs sing while we took it in. Yes, there are bugs - be prepared for that & no, it is not what I'd call a hike. This is an opportunity to observe.
Fabulous spot that I'm thrilled to have accidentally happened...
