Perch Lake is one of those hidden treasures that you almost don’t want to tell people about because it’s so perfect! The beaches are fantastic—well-kept and spacious, with clean grassy areas that are ideal for laying out a blanket or setting up chairs. The picnic tables are in great condition and thoughtfully placed so you can enjoy your lunch with a beautiful view of the water.
In August, the water is crystal clear and pleasantly warm, making it perfect for swimming, floating, or just hanging out. The entire lake is surrounded by tall, beautiful trees that create a peaceful, secluded feeling and plenty of shade if you want to escape the sun for a bit.
One of my favorite things about Perch Lake is that there are no motorized boats allowed. This keeps the atmosphere quiet and serene—you can actually hear the birds, the breeze in the trees, and the gentle splash of swimmers. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing day, whether you’re there with family, friends, or even on your own to unwind.

The park closes at 9pm. Mosquitoes start to get bad after...
