Hudson Crossing Park is a great little park that offers much to do! The park overlooks part of the Hudson River and Lock 5. There are picnic areas, canoe/kayak launch sites, areas to fish, gardens, hiking trails, art sculptures, and access to a working canal lock. The park is home to over two miles of well cared for hiking trails. These trails allow for great views of the Hudson, views of historic railroad bridges, a good look at the Northumberland Dam, and a chance to see some unique art sculptures tucked along the sides of the trails. You can also access the Dix Bridge which connects Saratoga County to Washington County. For those seeking a longer walk, the trails connect to the nearby Champlain Canalway Trail. There aren’t many short walks that offer so much! There is plenty of parking available at the park on most days. If you’re looking to launch a kayak there is a short carry from the parking lot to launch in the river. There are playgrounds in the park for kids. Without a doubt, the park offers the best recreational opportunities in the Schuylerville area. Stop by, you won’t be...
Read moreAn extensive park with thrilling views of the Hudson, and regularly decorated with art and historical markers. On a nice day the tall trails over the water and renewing sights off the Dix Bridge would thrill any pouting straggler, and for the historically minded and the outdoorsy wanderer the dimensions of the fresh past provide cheerful colors to the action. There are canoe stations and plenty of adventures around, including the ruins of an 1885 trolley trestle among the ancient shallows of the Hudson’s bank. Art projects both silly and serious abound, including a phone to the dead. Much birding, and the houses along the canal towpath are intimate and dreamy. On our trip we passed freshly dug holes and egg shells from northern map turtles. Locals living nearby are lucky. Do stop if you’re...

But these are very large fish. Last year my buddy got a ten plus pound bass from the over flow pond as you come into the park. I've personally caught cats upto 35 pounds. And please over 4 feet. Largest snapping turtle I've ever seen last year. About 4ft long. No less than 170 pounds would be my guess. 65 pound carp if you can catch them . My favorite fishing place in my area. Saratoga tackle can take care of all your fishing needs. They are now across from the high school and subway...
