Savage Winery — Attraction in Town of Sardinia

I have been going to this winery since they opened and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. I live in the same town and often take friends and relatives here when in town. I had a recent bad experience though and left a message for a call back and never received one. The issues...I asked for a growler of peach cider to purchase and even though it was labeled peach, it was apple(which I am not fond of). I had raved to my guests from Washington about the peach and when they tasted it, they thought it was disappointing. Also, my guest did a wine tasting which is a tiny taste of 7 different wines for $7. When I checked my bill, my guest had been charged for a wine flight, which is 7 full glasses of wine and much more expensive. I spent quite a bit on this visit. Several bottles of wine were purchased along with a growler of beer and a growler of cider. I had hoped to remedy the situation with a simple call back, but apparently this winery doesn’t value good customers.

Update.....The owner did reach out to me and compensated me for the bad service I received on the above review. He genuinely felt bad and is a very nice gentleman. As stated above, I have been to the winery many times and have had an enjoyable experience. I’m just going to say that on that one particular day, things just didn’t go right. I went with my partner for a little Sunday Funday and was not disappointed. The place felt much more like a bar than a winery, but we really enjoyed the experience. We had the Groupon which came with a lot of nice perks, so that made the experience even better. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about what was on draft/bottled. We also ordered the white pizza for lunch, which was pretty good. Since we were there primarily for the wines, that was the focus and I enjoyed 90% of what I tried and even brought a bottle home for later.

Savage winery is an amazing place! Both Rich, Jeanne, and little Rich were three of the best people we have met. We had our wedding at the winery, and they were so accomadating from the minute we were in contact with them. We couldn't have asked for a better place or better people to have been with us on our special day. Oh, and the wine is great!
