This was originally a church that was fortified into a really unique and strong stone fort. It was fired upon once during the Revolutionary war and you can still see the cannon hole and ball lodged in the wood of the fort. Really a unique place as I've never seen a church modified to serve a military purpose before.
The inside is absolutely amazing with artifacts from prehistoric times right up to the present day. There are unique an amazing collections from around the world - including warriors weapons from the Philippines. Check out the upstairs for their amazing display of artifacts. The oldest firetruck in the United States is also here! Great and...
Read moreOld Stone Fort Museum is like heaven for history buffs, particularly those interested in early American war history. The museum itself always has a lot of neat stuff to see. The curator is a big history and historic renovation buff, which helps tons.
If you are nearby or if you're interested in a day trip, check out the Old Stone...
