What a beautiful area! Hike Pharoe Mountain, it has three solid vistas at tge top so make sure you find them all; northwest, southwest, and east. Passed a couple of water bodies in the low area. Bugs were a nuisance so prepare accordingly. The first parking area was really far away. If you have a vehicle with excellent ground clearance you can drive further up and avoid walking along the "road" for so long. Read moreThe hike is densely wooded, but has nice views at the top. We had to hunt a bit to find the USGS marker. We started out at around 7 am, and counted literally 198 red efts - I was quite annoyed that I couldn't rightly say we saw "hundreds". Just two more of the little guys.....

The nights were peaceful and we didn't find any wildlife foraging for our food even when we cooked late night. The campground also sells ice and firewood.
