Just because I give this place three stars doesn't mean it is unworthy of a visit. This is a pretty 25 foot water fall that tumbles over the Niagara escarpment onto an accessible river bed. Two small parking lots on both ends of the park give barely ample spots to leave your car for the easy walk to the falls. There is a foot bridge that crosses the top of the falls allowing you to look down on the falls. A major highway is a stone's throw from this bridge. At the other end of the park it a rustic stairway that takes to down to the river bed and gives you a nice view of the falls. Interesting that there are a myriad of padlocks on the stairway steps. This park also includes a statue of Jean Nicolet, who was a French fur trader and made first contact with the local tribes. There is also a historical marker with information about his experience of the local area. This is a nice spot to visit; but you'll share your time there with a lot of people. While this is a pretty spot worth your time to visit, I hesitate to give this place four or five stars. If you give this place five stars, what do you give Big Manitou Falls or Amnicon Falls? Bottom line, this is a pretty spot worth the time to visit. Take the time, there is no such thing as an...
Read moreNice little place to visit and relax at. Myself and my Girlfriend went here to just get away from the city for a little bit. It was relatively quiet when we went. So we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Small parking area so it's not entirely large event friendly but that's fine. There is some outdoor seating. The public restroom was open when we went. At the moment you can access everything.
If you have never been before. From the parking area there is a small walk to reach the access to the falls. You cross a small bridge/path. Then you follow the woodline to left. Eventually you will find the stairs leading down to a platform. You can continue down the stair to access the water. Slight drop at the bottom of the stairs to be warned.
You can walk up to the falls, around and behind it. Myself and my loved one just sat together with no one around and just relaxed. We didn't talk or anything. Just listened to the falls and relaxed. Nice place to visit...
Read moreVisited this spot with my son during a road trip in 2022. Was about early June and when we arrived, the trek to the waterfall wasn't too difficult. The river was very low and we didn't get to see the waterfall in all of its glory. It had been exceptionally dry and hot. Was still really cool to see and the artwork and graffiti all over the rock faces were very interesting to look at. Would've loved to see it after a hard rain! My son and I still enjoyed the little journey and the experience. Would not recommend to anyone who may have difficulty walking or climbing. There is an overlook bridge for others to look from. There is a picnic area, playground and bathrooms a stones throw from the bridge. I didn't notice any signs about dogs but I'm sure its fine as long as they...
