I’m sure this preserve is really something in the summer. Nice and quiet aside from all the grasshoppers this weekend and still quite pretty. path maintenance could use some improvement.

Nice place to spot some migratory birds and to get some fresh air. The walk over to the Prairie overlook is pretty nice.

Peaceful, calming place to walk. Bring a hat there’s no shade.

As a local (5 min drive) I try to go here as often as possible... with multiple trails and loops to create the min/max of miles for yourself is awesome. It's mostly flat so great for biking or training on running... however... more often than not when I arrive the paths are NOT taken care of. Sometimes you cant even tell the different of where the path is or not because of how overgrown it is. Last time I went I just left, I couldn't take it. I felt like I was talking through the woods, just unbearable. And the look out pavilions? forget about it... there are 2 but there is NO way youre getting to either of them without a machete. Such a shame, lovely spot, but in the last 2 years I feel there has been no grounds keeping at all. It could be a great place for families and school/daycares to take trips to, but I would fear you would lose a child in the overgrown,...

This place has a lot of potential but it needs some work.

Each pond needs at least one covered sitting area on the water’s edge to sit and enjoy the view.

At least a quarter of the trails around the ponds need to be close to the water’s edge because most of them are at least 20-30ft away with tall vegetation in between making the viewing limited.

There needs to be more sitting rest areas along the trails to rest and enjoy the view.

Lastly, I’m unsure if the amount of vegetation (mainly lilypads) on the water is the proper amount. If so then okay, but if not then it needs to be managed to the proper amount. All of the ponds seem to be over grown with the vegetation.

Overall, the preserve is a beautiful place and I’m glad to see that it’s dedicated to...

First time here. June 5, warm, sunny day and zero shade on the trails. Most trails are grass, today 6-8 inches high. Decided to walk a loop. Walked about a mile on main trail and came to a sign saying trail was closed for most of the year. This was not indicated in the parking lot. The side trail was not maintained, waist high vegetation, so had to retrace our steps. WEnt the opposite way on main trail to Blue Heron trail which was also unmaintained. No loop today. On return walked Whitetail trail which was flooded in spots. There are many better places to walk....
