Saw many reviews here about this trail, so I had to give it a try! Started around 11 AM on a Saturday in October, And there were a decent number of visitors parked along the shoulder of the road leading to the trail head. We started and it seemed not too bad, but then the elevation begin. It is quite Rocky with a lot of potential for misstepping and turning an ankle, but just persist and the views are worth it. After about a mile straight uphill, you are greeted with unbelievable views along approximately five open ledges. You can sit there for as long as you’d like, but people come and go as they continue on to the larger hike ahead. Check out my photos for views of the trail and the Peak. Definitely an amazing hike to check out if you’re looking for some hiking in...

Challenging trail...4 plus miles round trip...one way up and the same way down....about half the trail is steep....VERY rocky in sections although most of the rocks are stable...I would advice you wear footwear that braces your ankles even though many people go up in sneakers...about 6 look-outs at the top...took me 3 plus hours round trip with rest stops...parking is somewhat limited but most people will park along the road if no spaces...

Difficulty definitely depends on your fitness level. Lots of rockiness and definitely an incline most of the way to the ledge. The ledge from the trailhead isn't very far though.

The ledge is one of the great Catskill spots. Premier sunrise spot if you have to gear to hike to it in the dark.

The ledge is the hard part if you decide to go get Panther. From the ledge to panther is very easy and only 500 more feet...
