This place is amazing. If you love wildlife, this is the place for you. My son is into photography, and he was just amazed by all the beauty, wildlife, and openness this place had to offer. There is a main building on Iroquois Road"?" don't quote me, as I am not sure that is the name of the road that is within the area. We went to the building and inside it was like a mini museum with a small gift shop and at the main desk they give you a map of the grounds. The staff there is very friendly and informative. I highly recommend taking a day to go, hike, have a picnic, and enjoy the quiet beauty this place has to offer. I have been there in the Fall and drove through it in Winter, and it is just as beautiful. Give this place a look, and if you can help support them to keep this place a place our wildlife can be...

Hunted There for 35 years. They eliminated all the hedge rows because they thought it would deture the preditors from eating waterfowl eggs. Wrong...my dog was capturing more preditors after the did that. All it did was get rid of a lot of benifitual mammals. Including grouse and rabbits ect . Then that started eliminating "invasive species" which I know some are bad. Autum olive and multiflora rose rose haven't propagated in the 30+ years I hunted There. Plus they eliminated the habitat that held 40+ flushes a night in the fall on the west north corner of sour springs road. No hunter input only liberal collage grads and down...

This place is huge..over 20,000 acres. You will need a map unless you know the area.Because it is first and foremost a wildlife refuge, there are specific places to hunt and fish and hike at specific times of the year. It's not just a park. The fishing is pretty good for small bass, sunnies, rock bass, small pike, carp, and bullheads. Some like to brag but I keep it real.Hunting is allowed..know that before you go there just for a walk.People may be hunting nearby and not know your there so be EXTREMELY careful or just hike somewhere else.Biting insects abound and will drive you nuts in minutes.Parking is...

Beautiful area, it's a great place to visit any time of year! Last year was my first year hunting here and I didn't see anything. Found a couple of nice bedding areas and lots of game trails though. When I renewed my hunting license this year I also opted for a dmp (antlerless tag) for here (8g) and I'm glad I did. Second day out I seen a group of five deer crossing the access road as I was going in. Two hours later I had my first deer ever. Ended up harvesting a yearling buck that is hands down the best tasting venison I've ever had in my life! Even my father in law in PA agreed I got the best yet.

I love this place. I feel as though it is a bit underrated or under appreciated. If you enjoy bird watching this is a must, go in the morning the earlier the better. The calls you will hear are magical. The amount of biodiversity and preserves wetlands is beautiful and a sight to see. Spring is a wonderful time to go. If you do go in summer, you should should definitely bring some bug spray and wear long clothes because the mosquitoes are abundant, but it is absolutely worth it. DON'T GO IF YOU'RE GOING TO LITTER!!!!

Took Grandmas old canoe out for the first time in years last summer. With quarantine our schedules were free and got to spend some awesome father daughter time. Iroquois was a GREAT spot. Almost reminded me of the Jungle Cruise ride at Disney; very very gorgeous. Was very serene and allowed you to appreciate nature and slow down a bit. I did get sunburnt a bit. But, that’s how you know it was a success :)
