Terrible experience , a very small place with dark color lavenders. Pre-bought 1 expensive ticket for 45$ for my talented artist 10 year old girl to join their drawing event, drove 45 mins one way, 90 mins both way. As soon as my family got there, met the super unfriendly boss lady there. The first sentence from her was, 'we have an event here, so you cannot be in' with a straight angry face. So I said, well I have a ticket for today's event. The next thing she said, no! She cannot go in, I said why? She said because it's for adults. The event does not say anything about kids cannot join etc. Then I said maybe her grandpa can join, can she watch him. Another 'no!' from the boss lady.. I was with 3 adults in total but none of us seemed can join the art. My girl can literally draw better than any adult , but no matter how I try to explain, she has a very loud 'no' to us. I was thinking we can wait outside looking at the flowers and maybe one of the adults can join. Before I could open my mouth, the boss lady literally said 20 'no's onto my face and said to send a refund. I am not sure if she had a bad day or she is racist or why she treated me and my family in such a mean way. She could definitely have said, 'May I help you' at the beginning and say sorry, or change the approach to see if one of our adults could paint, so not to upset my whole family. At the end, at least I appreciated that she sent me a refund in cash. It was the worst experience ever anywhere I ever went. Normally you see people are super nice in small places, but hell no for this farm! Not worth going at all, pls save your money and time to go...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful places in the world, seriously it is. I've been lucky enough to travel the world. I've seen my fair share of the natural beauty that exists. Hillcrest Lavender Farm sits up there amongst the most stunning locations out there. The proprietor is welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable. He explained the process with great enthusiasm. I was fully engrossed with all he said. The fields are set upon a mountainside with wide sweeping views. Lambs, chickens, and a multitude of wildlife are all within sight for your viewing pleasure. The lavender products they sell are of the highest quality you can find. The lavender oil they use in their fun and unique products is distilled on site. I could go in forever about the impact the time I spent at Hillcrest had upon me. To save time I'll just say please do yourself a...
Read moreOf the many stops we made over the course of a 10 day road trip, our visit to Hillcrest Lavender Farm in Sherburne, NY was easily our favorite. Kathy and Eric have obviously put a lot of thought into creating a pleasant experience for their guests: In addition to a quiet, spacious level gravel parking area, they provided a seating area and picnic table. The farm provides a spectacular overlook of the Chenango Valley. The view is stunning whether or not the lavender is in bloom..Eric enthusiastically shared with us the process of growing and distilling lavender, and we were able to meet their small flock of doll faced sheep. In the farm shop, you can buy various lavender products such as sprays, soaps, syrup and dried lavender products. We definitely plan to make a return visit to Hillcrest Lavender Farm in the...
