The Timber frame build and landscape speaks for itself!! When searching for venues we were looking in Rochester but also in Syracuse since my family is from NJ we were trying to minimize some of the drive. We also got engaged at Beak and Skiff in Skaneateles so when we found the Lodge we were so excited. They have multiple packages and you get so much for your money. Our package came with top shelf open bar, catering, full set up and breakdown, an in-house dj, and a full decor package that you get to preview at the tasting (they undersell how much stuff they have in it when you ask, there was a TON). They’re so accommodating with everything and saved us so much money on things other venues normally make you bring in yourself. The venue itself is stunning with a pond, deck, timber frame build and a huge glass wall. The catering was amazing seriously the best wedding food I’ve had in a long time. The only thing that bothered me was the flooring but you really don’t pay attention to it with everything going on and the amazing lighting the dj provides. We chose to have our ceremony there too and the getting ready suite had everything the girls needed to get ready. The landscape speaks for itself in your photos everything is just picture perfect. The coordinator Joelle is such a sweetheart too and is there to make your life easier in every possible way. 10/10 would...
Read moreWhy the four stars? Recently I attended a function there. Very nice but a few things were not up to 5 stars.
One: lack of labeling on sauces, dressings, frostings, food, etc. caused some confusion and lacked attention to detail. I and others had to ask several times... and some even resorted to questionable sampling techniques. (Yikes) This is not 5 stars.
Two: The prime was good but they lacked a standard au jus... in place was a heavy sauce that tended to over power the meat. It was not labeled. Plus, one had to reach back in line to get the sauce once they reached the meat station. Again, no big real but not 5 stars.
Three: The salads were not mixed well so one would no or a bunch of a certain salad component unless they took time to selectively pick out what they wanted.
Four: The chicken masala was dry and tough lacking much flavor.
Five: Water was initially supplied but refills were not done, at least at the table I was seated at. Again, no big deal but lack of attention to detail.
Six: Needed were more drop off areas for waste, dirty dishes, etc. I had to hunt for places to put used dishes. Some people left trash on the same tables where the food was....
The place is on the cusp of reaching 5 stars with some better attention to details. Beautiful building...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding at The Lodge in September and it was absolutely amazing! When we visited for a tour we knew right away this was the venue for us. Joelle was so helpful and easy to work with. Throughout the entire wedding planning process she answered all our questions and she was so flexible with our meetings since we live out of town. The building itself is s beautiful, we didn't really even feel the need to bring in too many of our own decorations. It was so great to have the venue for the whole day leading up to our ceremony, and the bridal suite was so spacious for myself and my party to get ready in. The food was AMAZING, our guests all still talk about how good their meals were. Everything ran so smoothly the day before and the day of, and we could not have asked for a...
