Love short beach. It is a local Smithtown best kept secret. This past year the town purchased walkways that extend the hard surface much closer to the water. This greatly improves the ability to push someone in a wheelchair or carriage much further.
There is a BBQ area close to the entrance. There is also overnight available camping. Contact the town for details.
Beware boaters ... the tide moves in and out fast and you could easily get stranded if you don’t pay...
Read moreA great place to camp w the family. As per NY cleanliness standards, this is on par as average. The grounds staff are pleasant and helpful. There is no hot water in the shower. Parking is a good 100 yards from camp so be prepared to walk a good bit. The rangers will gladly help cart your supplies to camp if you don’t have a 4x4 truck. If you have a truck then thats even better, you can drive your camp gear rite on to the beach. Decent children’s play ground....
Read moreLocal North Shore Beach, you must be a Smithtown resident to park there. Very rocky beach, and at low tide the water can be as shallow as calf high. There's a concession stand, a small sprinkler park. There's also a Long Beach, and Schubert Beach also only open to Smithtown residents.
