I was very skeptical before booking this place but I am very happy with my decision now. The State Park is beautifully maintained. I stayed in B Loop and did Tent Camping
Few points to consider and note: A lot if sites have water view front There is a children play area Washrooms were super clean and both hot/cold water was available 24/7 Woods are NOT SOLD here. Buy wood locally through CASH payment. Nearest place is Crosby’s Barker (Gas station). Here you can buy wood if you don’t have cash. Rest there are a lot of places which sell wood on cash. Best rates would be $10 for a complete row of wood. The lighthouse seem to have haunted stories like any other lighthouse. Maybe of your interest! You can book a Cottage which is $200 a night which is on the 2nd floor of the lighthouse to experience the thrill 🤪 There are water outlets at the RV Campsites and other water outlets at different tent sites I personally feel that this is more for RV/Trailer campsite and less interesting for Tent camping. Only a few sites are good for tent. I was lucky to get a nice view. There were less insects and bugs compared to other camping areas which was definitely a plus. There is a store available (actually office) which closes at 6 daily. You get 10lbs ice here for $3. There is minimal fee for Lighthouse tour. I highly recommend to tour the lighthouse. Prices in my photos attached.

Read moreAccording to Wikipedia, Golden Hill State Park is a 510-acre (2.1 km2) state park located in Niagara County, New York, United States. The park is on the south shore of Lake Ontario in the northeast corner of the Town of Somerset, north of Lower Lake Road. Thirty Mile Point Light is included within the park and if you reserve in advance, you can stay overnight in the lighthouse. Golden Hill State Park was established in 1962 on the former estate of Robert Newell, a local industrialist; remnants of Newell's estate were largely left abandoned after the state purchased it and were not rediscovered until 2017. The park offers picnic tables with pavilions, a playground and playing fields, recreation programs, a nature trail, hiking and biking, fishing and ice fishing, a boat launch, seasonal small game and waterfowl hunting, a campground with tent and trailer sites, ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and disc golf. It is a really nice park and appears to be maintained well and kept clean. When we visited, there were a few campers set up and overall, the park was very quiet. We enjoyed our visit and it’s a great place to take your family. In 2005, Golden Hill was named one of Reserve America's Top...
Read moreIt is now 9:41pm May 12. The gang of about 20 people in site 38? Are obnoxious. Loud music screaming etc. I camp to have a peaceful experience. My stay here up till now has been very enjoyable. I now doubt if I will come back. Why is there not a ranger to monitor park safety. I called park phone and got no answer. I am in site 40 and really p...st off. About to call police. The couple next to me in 39 have been been going at it since about 9:00. Loud swearing and music. Called police at about 10:30. Someone came by at 11:15 and told them to quiet down. They did for about five minutes. It is now 12:26 and they are back at it. Every word spoken starts with an f. Lots of booze and drugs involved I am sure. Why does a State Park tolerate this behavior? I am ready to pack up now but too tired to drive. 1:50 Still going strong. Do not bring children to this park. ..Couple was removed from park next day. Thanks to park manager Renne. Nice park but I chose bad neighbors. I will give it...
