Landcraft Garden Foundation — Attraction in Town of Southold

Magical—like a truly astounding place. It must have taken so much work to make this garden what it is today. Clearly they get a lot of joy out of gardens… so many butterflies, bees, insects—and a lot of other wildlife, birds, lizards—stuff you don’t usually see because it is a lot of tropical plants, which is kind of crazy—they move it all in to hot houses for winter!!! But it’s their business too, so you’ll see a lot of unusually stuff you don’t see elsewhere… makes you realize how few bees there are generally these days… very sad. But sat morning yoga too! Shame it is only open Friday and Saturday, but the owners are working the rest of the time on their business and you can meet them and ask about the garden...

What a very special place!! My wife & I visited this past weekend and we were amazed at the beauty of the gardens. The amount of design, planning, hard work & skill that went into (and continues) Landcraft is so evident as soon as you start out on your tour. We were also so pleased with all of the wonderful and knowledgeable staff members that we met and spoke with throughout our tour. As an amateur photographer, I especially enjoyed all of the photo opportunities! We can’t wait...
