It's absolutely beautiful!!!!! However, the management needs changed. You used to get a huge wheelbarrow full of wood for 10$ now you get a small bundles that burn quickly. I did not fish here this time but everyone I seen said fishing AMAZING! My favorite is the quiet evenings if you get a chance patiently wait for the cooing of the Loons. God certainly blessed this place with His grace and love. Enjoy nice hot showers for small fee. If you get the chance definitely a place to visit. You can tent camp or campers/RV. Also a dumping station for those as well. Electric hookups. And a fish cleaning station. Enjoy the beauty. Yes there is also a playground for kiddos. As for WiFi I didn't know there was, and caretaker doesn't offer any information and is hard to reach. Recommend Barron find a new caretaker ASAP losing business for sure. It use to be packed all the time here sad to say not the case any longer. Why pay 10 bucks for 2 small bundles of wood. Forage for yourself there's so much starter wood. Disappointment in only management. Wish I had taken...
Read moreHighly unrecommended. Stayed there a few weeks ago very nice campsite wonderful host very easy to work with. Had another reservation however due to a family emergency had to cancel. Campground host was unable to reimburse me for the amount that I already pulled for the upcoming reservation which is understandable, not her department. She said I could call the county to see if they could reimburse me. Woman I spoke to at the county treasurer's office was very rude saying that I could try to tell my son story to someone else but she wasn't buying it and hung up on me. Will never be staying at any county owned campsite again nor will I be giving them any support if I at all can avoid it. Their rudeness and severe lack of sympathy for the loss of my family member along with their severe lack of compassion and willingness to work with anybody leads me to highly recommend that nobody ever give this county any of their money if at...
Read moreChecking into the Veterans Park in Cameron Wisconsin. When paying the entry fee for camping, an old lady visited the host and was listening to the conversation. The host asked if I wanted to use the dump it would cost an extra 5 dollars. Being it was only 2 days, I said no. The visitor made a comment interjection that I just wasn't going to pay the extra fee and use the dump anyway. Pretty presumptuous of her to make such a comment not knowing me or my previous service. My intention was to use the dump at the next campground. She must have figured it was her business to keep the host abreast of the shysters entering our parks and taking advantage of the state and systems set up for...
