Another great Marinette County Park! (I love their "M" signs! What a great way to add a little extra something to set them apart!)
The entrance has quite a bit of parking, a huge grassy area with picnic tables and grills, a playground, a restroom, and a lemonade stand(?) which was unique.
There are a few paths that lead down to the falls area. Wooden and stone stairs, and dirt paths. The stone was a bit slick just after morning showers, but nothing too treacherous.
There are three small waterfalls once you get down the path. The bridge over the uppermost falls is beautiful and a great picture taking opportunity. There's an easy trail to get to the bridge, and that goes into a longer trail with views of the other falls. The rocks here were a little slick after the rain, so keep that in mind when you visit.
The next waterfall is closer to the viewing platform. There are a few places to get down for side views, and you can get views of the other side and front from the bridge trail. There wasn't a heavy amount of water flowing, which gave it this great shimmer and allowed for viewing of the rocks underneath.
The final waterfall is down and to the left of the viewing platform. There was a beautiful mist rising up, and abundant small wildlife in this area. The path does keep going, though it starts to get overgrown and had downed trees. We turned around not far in to go back and take the bridge trail to see the falls from another perspective. You can see the other side by following the bridge trail (which does have a small but very rocky area that needs to be traversed to get back to the path). There are SO MANY MUSHROOMS!!! There's a bathtub-sized pool of water right next the falls that is gorgeous and really adds to the beauty of the area.
There are a few things that could be added to make this place even better: a few small shelters, a second restroom (there were quite a few people, more than 20, when we visited, but only the one toilet), a handrail going down the staircase, and a swingset. Otherwise, this is a fantastic park!
Highly recommend visiting!
As with all Marinette County Parks, $5/day or $25/year for the sticker gets you into all their county parks. Well...
Read moreReally just rapids, been to many free water falls that are much bigger. Missed the tube for the $5 and the ranger would rather write a ticket than help. We were looking for an entrance gate. Had never been to a falls that had to be paid for before. Don’t ask the ranger for help, not a friendly guy at all. Just make sure you stop at the tube. When you ask for help he stated he can’t let everyone off! Wouldn’t take the money or even hand my husband the the ticket. Think someone’s job has gone...
Read moreBeautiful park with hiking trails, waterfalls, and even a little playground. There is a $3 fee which is kind of a pain to fill out the paperwork. Would be nice if just took donations. There are pit toilets. The water is chilly, but refreshing on a hot day. The trails are a bit challenging in that they are not very wide or flat, lots of rocks and roots in trail. There are campsites available for $10 per day, first come,...
