Lovely little path, flat and easy. Well maintained and you can tell it’s a labor of love. Wonderful if you live in easy driving distance and have a dog or a kid who needs to burn energy off but isn’t up for anything super ambitious. I’ll be honest though, it’s probably not worth going out of your way for if you’re looking for a long walk with a gratifying view. This is a quick there-and-back with wonderful views of the mountains. If you go, I’d recommend turning around after you hit the nice clearing with the bench, there’s not much remarkable beyond and it’s a bit off putting when you abruptly hit the end of the trail with a bunch of “private property” signs. Have only visited in winter—trail was compacted enough to walk on with my dog and without snowshoes, but of course YMMV.

A well maintained walking trail with a great addition of a walking story with signs from the local library. (I was walking my dog who is moderately reactive to wildlife so was focused on desensitized training. I didn't get to stop and read the signs so don't know what the story/information was but am excited to check it out next time. Also, it inspired to renew my library card so now I excited to be able to borrow books and museum passes again)

This is a nice, well maintained, trail to take a walk on. You pass a few streams and have some nice vistas towards the mountains. The trail can get muddy in places especially after a big rain but it is generally dry. There is a tree blocking the trail about a mile and a half south of the trailhead. Parking is very limited. There aren't any signs to indicate where to park but you can just pull over into the small cleaning by the road.

I got to say this trip is pretty amazing and pretty accessible for someone who is disabled I am considered legally blind but I don't let my disability hold me back and I go hiking throughout the United States and I enjoyed hiking this trail and also it's the abandoned train depot on a part of this trail off Lovers Lane in New Lebanon New York but the steventown side is amazing also if you like to see the trail it's on my YouTube channel Joey's adventure 1436 YouTube Joey's adventure 1436 YouTube the reason there's a number at the end of my channel to tell it apart from others they are turkeys on this trail so be alert if you hear stuff in the woods it's probably just turkeys or deer One part of the trail sounds like it has creek or a water not sure it could be a runoff also but it shows it on my channel it used to be an old railroad many years ago That's why it was called the court screw I found about this trail through a friend of mine and through a town supervisor and I'm very thankful and blessed I found this trail be in blind I was able to feel the side of the path with my cane and hike it independently without assistance it does have some roots so I will warn you in advance a couple spots has some roots and some stuff but other than that it's pretty much a good hiking trail on one road in stephentown the trail has one side across the road and one side on the other side of the road if you go to the parking in front of the dirt driveway that brings you back to the other trail it's grass and it's easy to hike another great amazing spot is Han hollow State reserve that's in Columbia county New York that's never amazing place to hike but not the best for the blind I had to go with someone there because some of it you have to hike through field and a blind guy hiking through a field is not a good idea because you won't find his way back through it coming back but I do apologize if there's any type errors I speak into my device and it writes for me My device has talk back on it so it reads things to me and I can speak to it and it writes what I say but never let anything hold you back in life you can overcome anything and always remember you are perfect the way you are and don't ever change yourself or no one or nothing be who you are and life has no limitations I go hiking through woods I also do many other things I don't let my disability impact me I do not believe being blind is a disability My YouTube channel is once again Joey's adventure 1436 YouTube The number is part of my channel to tell it...
