The Stony Point Light is the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson River. It is located at the Stony Point Battlefield in Stony Point, New York. The lighthouse was built in 1826 by Thomas Phillips, to warn ships away from the rocks of the Stony Point peninsula.

This has been a park for 120 years with tourists originally coming off steam ships. The views of the Hudson and mountains are spectacular and well worth the trip! Grounds close 4pm. Grounds only open Monday-Friday until 4. Saturday and Sunday grounds closed. Don't try to park outside the locked gate on a closed day because you will get towed. I guess if you want to go on a weekend you should park up the hill in the town...
