I love LotFotL's CSA because April, Tim, and the farm crew:
*Grow diversified, sustainable, and high-quality organic vegetables. *Offer close to a "full diet" CSA through obtaining sustainably-produced and/or organic items from other local producers. These items include a wide range of meats, breads, cheeses, eggs, fruit in season, salsas, maple syrup, honey, tomato sauce, sauerkraut, bagels, burger buns, vegan meal options, mushrooms, seafood, coffee, kombucha, granola, popcorn, tortillas, and more. They also partner with other local organic farms to offer additional vegetable options. *Run their CSA more like a farm store. CSA members spend their credits entirely on products they select, on weeks that work for them, and in the quantities they need. *Provide an exceptional worker share program, allowing individuals to work 4-8 hours weekly or bi-weekly during the growing season in exchange for wages in CSA store credits and a surplus of extra vegetables! The program is educational and exposes individuals to the basic operations of a diversified, small-scale organic farm. *Nurture native plants!
Overall, I believe LotFotL is one of the top CSA farms in the region. It is a special place of mine. This summer, I will not be living in SE WI, but otherwise, I would...
Read moreI have been a member of LotFotL since almost the beginning. They are fairly priced, with many options for larger and smaller shares. The variety of vegetables is amazing! I love trying new produce that I have never heard of before, and April always sends out recipes so I know what to do with everything. And, April and Tim are great about getting input, so the types of produce can change from year to year depending on what the customers want. Over the years, they have expanded to include fruit, eggs, meat, and honey. Everything is fabulous! I no longer buy any meat at the grocery store. This year's Easter ham was the best ever! Several years ago they asked me if they could use my house as a drop-off site. I happily agreed. I meet so many nice people. I have gotten friends, coworkers, and family members to join LotFotL. I like the fresh, organic food; I like that I buy my food locally; I like the quantity and quality I get for my money. Even my dogs share in the bounty; they love their frozen organic veggies all winter long! We are anxiously waiting for this year's...
Read moreOur family have been members of LOTFOTL for 5 years . We keep coming back because we love being a part of this dynamic farm family. Tim and April are easy to work with, friendly and helpful. The produce is fresh and consistently delivered without quality issues, plus they offer other items from reputable sources like seasonal fruit and eggs. We feel it's important to support farmers who are committed to organic and sustainable growing practices. We like that their prices are affordable, they have vacation hold options, no hassle pick up locations and the "swap box" is such a bonus ! We enjoy the email news letter that includes farm updates from Tim, what to expect in this weeks share, recipes and more. I love supporting Aprils sustainable honey bee practices and her attitude about stewardship is refreshing and appreciated~lotfotl honey is floral and fantastic! Being apart of this CSA has broadened out veggie horizons. After 5 years we have improved our health, meal planning, and are inspired to grow more of our own food in our community plot. We are big...
