Chapman Park — Attraction in Town of Sullivan

This was a beautiful location. I visited mid-August on a Saturday afternoon! I love to travel and view beautiful locations and this was definitely one of them. There was a lot of little spaces I could go to just enjoy the day solo without too many people or interruptions. There was even a birthday party going on while I visited. And I still managed to meditate and find some quiet spaces. The water was beautiful. There was a long pier for all the people fishing. Once the fisherman were gone I was able to sit at the end of the pier and enjoy nature.

If you're looking for a place to visit with children older children I definitely could see a great day at the park. But younger children like toddlers 2 to 3 years of age would be a little bit more difficult. Only because there is no gate between the water and the park. It's a very risky location to take more rambunctious children. I could never bring my son to this park because of how close the water is to the play area for the children. So I would keep this in mind before visiting with small children. Maybe that's just my preference I don't know.

Lastly I really really appreciate the fact that there are bathrooms Not only bathrooms but nice bathrooms. Clean bathrooms clean location. I'll definitely be returning...

Love love love Chapman park. It's small but has so much to offer. One it's the Cleanest park I have ever been too, I have never worry about my daughter pick up bad things. Two the dog park is amazing the people there are so nice and understanding. Just please use common sense when it comes to your dogs behaviors around other dogs. If you were worried about your dog being too small no worries there is a small gated part for smaller dogs. They even offer doggie bags there to clean up after your dog just in case you for get yours. Three the bathrooms are pretty clean for a public park. Four the playground is awesome as long as it hasn't rain the day before. My little one love it always begging to go there Whenever we can. Five the views you get of oneida lake are wonderful and have benches you can sit at and just watch very peaceful in my opinion. The one con is the fishing I can't catch a darn thing out there even tho there is a nice dock down at the lake but just trying and looking out at the lake is good...

But I can add that there are some team sport, soccer, baseball, Fields in the park as well. I saw two women going for a walk along the access road.

BTW, the speed limit is 15 mph.

Also, the entrance to the park has a wooden "fence" to make it look park like from the road. That is where you will want to turn into the park. I say that because there are other nearby roads that do not go...
