I have had a property in Sullivan County for almost 20 years. I am so saddened by what occurred today and wanted to share my experience. I own a property on a neighboring lake and have always enjoyed visiting Wolf Lake for bike rides and family runs. After my experience today, I do not feel welcomed to ever return to Wolf Lake. I parked my vehicle at the office area of Wolf Lake. My husband and I had our bicycles out, helmets on, and were ready to view the beautiful property. My husband has also never been to Wolf Lake and I thought it might be a way to view the property. My husband works in real estate and has been thinking about accumulating more property within Sullivan County. After what occurred today, we do not feel welcomed to ever return to Wolf Lake. A very large woman came out of the office building and asked me if I lived on the property. I kindly told her that I wasn’t a resident of Wolf Lake but informed her of the neighboring lake where I own property. She told me to leave the property of Wolf Lake and park my vehicle at the lake where I live (over 30 minutes away by bike). As someone undergoing medical issues, I wouldn’t be able to bike ride from my neighboring lake to Wolf Lake. The way the very large woman spoke also made me feel that my vehicle would not be safe if I had left it parked by the office building, as it sounded that she might have my vehicle towed. The very large woman also informed me that they’re going to start having vehicles of visitors towed soon. I feel badly that the office staff are on such a power trip, that they won’t allow visitors to come view the property. It’s okay though, I love my residence on the neighboring lake. I love my second home in Sullivan County. I just know that I can never visit Wolf Lake again, as my experience today left a horrible taste in my mouth and I will make sure to relay this information to neighbors, family, and friends. God bless! And God bless that very large woman who entered from the office building...
Read moreI truly loved the lake years ago but several board members have ruined the activities that I once enjoyed. They will come up to your boat demanding to see your fishing license, drivers license, button and your address which they have no write too. The person who harassed me ended up running his motor over my prototype which Amazon valued the developmental device at $7500 - $8000 in value. This has previously happened while I was fishing and what was already a great day of fishing turned out to scare the fish and turning my peaceful and enjoying into a catch less time and I was extremely upset by the incident and I simply decided to go home angry and upset about the whole incident.
To note this individual called the state troopsees and was aggressively informed that they have no right to legally demand any identification from me and it could be considered as an attempt to defraud an individuals right to privacy and as an attempt to steal someone's identity.
Worst of all, he believed that I owe him an apology.
Anyone who lives on the lake I recommend picking up a rules and regulations booklet from the Wolf Lake office and read through it. Some people have nothing better to do than discover someone else nothing following the letter of the law and inform themselves of these rules and regulations because twice I have people making up their own rules or regulations to scare people into believing that board members opinions in order to avoid any problems or financial penties.
I grew up on the lake and have witnessed that some board members are exempt from the rules and regulations and do as they please. I am hopeful that the new president will not allow such behavior...
