New Vines Winery — Attraction in Town of Torrey

For a person who traveled the world on United Nations assignments for many years, 5-star hotels, exquisite receptions, and fine food came as elements of the diplomat’s functions. I would not think that a B&B house in the Finger Lakes Region could impress me more than service focused world class hotel chains. New Vines Bed & Breakfast (Penn Yan, NY) pleasantly surprises with realization of all travelers’ dream to be “home away from home”. When staying at New Vines I have had a rare feeling that I was that VIP person surrounded with comport and attention. Rooms were clean, indoor room temperature just right, food and wine was delicious. Dani and Todd service breakfast full of super nutritious ingredients: vegetables from their own garden, local farm eggs and cheeses. Do not miss a glass of all natural red or white at the sun setting hour. How many stars to be assigned to New Vines B&B? Countless, infinite. Wow. The stay here was incredible. Dani and Todd were such nice, friendly, and accommodating hosts. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The wine time on the porch was wonderful too. Todd makes some really nice wines and we enjoyed talking about them with him on the porch while eating cheese and crackers. We also appreciated the advice they gave on places we asked about. (Thanks for suggesting the Stonecat restaurant for on our way home. It was really good!) I thought the way the house was set up was absolutely perfect. You have a nice, private sitting area inside, (there is even a bathroom down there!) and you can also go out and sit on the porch with a good view of the lake if you’d like. It feels like your own private space. They had coffee out in the morning before breakfast so I could grab a cup and go back to our room, or sit outside and enjoy the view in privacy. This is a newer bed and breakfast. It does not have some of the old time charm of some older B&B's. However, it is located in a good central location for wine tasting in the area and away from town. The property is not huge, but just big enough for a little walk through the vines after driving all day. The owners gave and other guest a full wine tasting of their wines. We asked about dinner nearby, they had many suggestion in the area. However, they also shared with us an activity at another winery down the road that had food available.
