There are many places to go in Harriman Park, to go hiking camping and canoeing, however the Kanawauke picnic area is excellent for the following it has a picnic area you can cook on the park grills it has a bathroom and more importantly you can launch kayaks and canoes. Lake Kanawauke is separated by two roads but it is attached by water connection tubes for kayaks and canoes can go into. You can't rent boats or kayaks or canoes there but you can purchase water passes from April to November at the lake Tiorita for $6. You have to get there early for parking spaces there is a big Park a lot but it does fill up

A lovely place for picnic and enjoying the outdoor with your family.

I came here before the pandemic, as we drove from Astoria Queens through the famous 7 Lakes Drive. The view is amazing, the air is fresh and you just love being under the blue sky. I guess it took us around 1.5 hours drive from home.

We brought our own food and drinks for picnic and we could use the benches or your picnic mat. It is also a perfect place for photo sessions if you like it. Try coming here near or during the autumn. It's...

A small-ish picnic area on the edge of lake Kanawauke. It probably parks about 40 cars, but there are maybe a dozen pinic tables and some benches along the lake. There are some paved trails that go through private cabins and if you cross the road you can head off towards the Bald Rocks. The boat launch is nice, you'll need a PPC sticker to launch your boat.

Generally quiet off-season, but expect it to be packed...
