As military retirees we have the opportunity to stay at the lighthouse. We stayed approximately 10 years ago and really enjoyed our stay. When we stayed this last time I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the unit. Very, very dirty. Body hair in the bathtub, bathroom sink upstairs had dried toothpaste in it ,toilets were disgusting, refrigerator and stove very dirty. Dust bunnies in the kitchen, washer agitator broken, dryer had no lint filter. The worst part of our stay was the mouse poop in all the drawers. We had to wash all the silverware, glassware and coffee cups. We decided to eat out because of how dirty this place was. Being ex military this would have never passed any inspection. They left the phone number of the lady who was the caretaker but there's no service in the lighthouse. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of this place. I don't mind running a vacuum quick to clean up dead bugs but this was not good. Cheryl (lighthouse manager) you need to go in these places after someone leaves and check that the units are clean and get rid...

We have a special fascination with lighthouses being from Kansas.

This one has a lovely beach and great walking trails, but we didn't have the time to explore them this trip.

We purchased our out of state Wisconsin State Park annual vehicle pass online. Daily parking passes vary on state or out of state vehicles.

We came to see the lighthouse and it was worth the price of admission to the State Forest just for the short walk out and the...

The beach is.... Okay. Yoy cant get very close to the light house. Whole area is blocked off with trespassing signs. So if you are going for the light house. You cant only be 30 feet away. And if yoy are going fornthe beach, go somewhere elsen cause you also need to pay the state park entrance fee to enter. That fee was the ONLY reason we even stayed for more than an hour. Id give it a...

A really nice place its a shame you cant go to the lighthouse. But the beach is super quiet and peaceful. All sorts of trails and places for kayak, bikes , even horses. Beautiful nature sounds frogs and all cause its away from the hussle and bussle of life. There is campgrounds too. And rv hook ups for electricity. But it dont affect the nature feel. Great place to at least show up and exsplore.

Love staying here as a retired USCG Officer. I get my ocean fix when I am back in the Midwest as longing for the Pacific ocean. Only hassle is having to drive down to USCG station Sheboygan to get the keys to to quarters and then returning them. It was much easier when the USCG station in Two Rivers WI had the keys, but all in all, a great place to decompress and just relax. Semper Paratus.
